That might work better. I will look into that.

  • As a lay person, what would I find the most useful in Logos for my next "big" purchase?

I bought L6 Starter a while back, and have added the free products through the 2 years I've enjoyed using Logos. And then 7 came out, and I thought of upgrading, and then I saw the price, and had a surgery to pay for, and then we didn't have much work this winter due to the huge snow storms in Idaho where I live. So now I am back at work, getting overtime

  • Re: New to Logos (basic free)

Yes, this bugs me to no end when Logos charges for public domain products. I do realize that Faithlife is a for-profit corporation so this is a catch-22--we get a much better product, but we also have to pay for it.

  • Re: When did "Reverend" come into use?

For my experiences as a child, the pastor always was scary to me. Now that I'm older, and have experienced life a bit, titles don't scare me. I'm not afraid to question what a pastor says, in a respectful way, not just "Hey idiot! What are you talking about?" from the pew. One thing I see with titles is a lot of guys who want to be like Benny Hinn or

  • Feature Request?

I'm not sure if this is the actual place to put in a request. But could you guys a new Download All button that appears right away instead of us having to search for things and then manually download? There is a Download All that appears after I start searching the library, but I figured it's been done this way for the majority of customers who have

  • Re: Invitation, please?

I believe for Android...been so long since I made the switch to beta.....you go into the play store where Logos Bible is, and then scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and it should say something about beta. OR, I might be wrong about it. Let me check my phone. OK, this might sound complicated but it's not. Hit Play Store app, then the 3 bar button

I just heard this listening to Chuck Smith the other day at work. It's on a podcast, I think it's the C2000 series, somewhere in the Psalms. I can't remember how he got on the topic either, but he said there was nothing to revere about the name "Chuck Smith". Ironic considering how many folks were at the CC CM when he was there.

  • Re: Family Christian Announces Plan for Liquidation

Well, you have to look at their banking records as well. They had some troubles in 2012, and then from then on. Also look at their selection. The one in Boise had hardly any good books. A lot of Joel Osteen and other garbage. The only commentaries they had were J. Vernon Mcgee and Layman Bible Commentary Series.

  • Re: What happens to our library if faithlife goes under?

If you are ultra paranoid of losing your library, but don't want to spend a lot of money, checkout thriftbooks.com. I have been buying from them for the last 3 months. The reason? Cheap books. Something like under $4 per book. And then free shipping for orders over $15 and then each order earns you rewards for a coupon you can use whenever you want

Olive Tree is really good. They have a different Base packaging method. Instead of getting a variety of resources, OT will get you a NKJV set with commentaries and dictionaries that go along with the NKJV. Cheaper? By far. But OT is targeting a different audience than Logos. Logos is more for scholar work and research and the foreign language user.

  • Re: Logos 6 and Linux

Have you tried playonlinux or CrossOverOffice to help? CO costs money, but I tried it a long time ago. Worked pretty well. Playonlinux is just a GUI for wine. So it helps you install some programs. I'm not sure that Logos is one of them.

  • Re: Computer setups

You might need to change some settings on Windows 10. MS decided to make windows desktop and windows phone the same so you can sync everything. The updates have a setting that allow you to turn your windows machines into peer to peer machines for updates. That will slow your machine to a halt, network wise. Proclaim for linux....dream. There is an open

  • Re: My Big Concern about Logos future for ownership model

Yeah I agree with the pricing. It needs to be cheaper than you would get on Google play or in paper form.

  • Re: Logos on E-Ink devices?

Thanks guys. At this point, I am just not sure if tablets are good for me. Something about them just causes temptation to fester like a wildfire. I have Covenant Eyes, and that helps, but the temptation still lingers quite a bit. I can just use my phone and laptop for now I guess. Maybe I can find a stripped down rom of Android that doesn't have a web

  • Logos on E-Ink devices?

I know that there is another thread about this, but I wanted to start a new one. What devices that are e-ink can run the Logos app or use the Logos resources? I already have a tablet, but for some reason, it's a weakness in my life, and I have had to cut it out. My theory is using an E-Ink would cut temptation out quite a bit. There will always be temptation

  • Re: My Big Concern about Logos future for ownership model

Faithlife is in a unique position, because FL can't afford to go subscription-only...yet. So they are going both non-sub and sub. So this helps feed two markets--the ones that want cutting edge features and other cool stuff, and those of us who are fine with paying $300+ every couple of years and not paying anything again until we deem it necessary

  • Re: My Big Concern about Logos future for ownership model

There's no way Logos could afford to go subscription-only. Do you know how many users they would lose? I mean, look at Adobe. Their products used to be the best of the best. Now they're just normal. Why? Subscription based. I don't think Faithlife would do what Adobe did anyway. Who would pay a fee to rent Logos or Verbum every month when they could

  • Re: Logos 7 Verbum package vs Verbum 7 Feature Set?

I have found more and more this to be true: when we offer time or resource to the church or to the Lord, it doesn't come free. There is always something that it will cost you, whether it's time away from family, or money.

  • Re: Laptop Battery Life

That's a trick question. Having only used logos on Windows, and not mac, I don't know about MacBooks. The biggest issue would be do you have an integrated GPU, or do you have a dedicated card? With Windows, I can tell my laptop to always use the Nvidia dedicated card, when plugged in, and use the Intel on battery. Or I can tell windows to use my Nvidia
