  • Re: LibreOffice 4.0

Good news, as you all probably know already, fdo#61193 fix crash on RTF paste of footnote It will be available in LibreOffice 4.0.3. Dev versions already have the fix, but all trouble will be gone soon enough due to the update.

That's how it's always worked, right? Nothing unusual there, methinks.

  • Re: LibreOffice 4.0

Nope, LibreOffice 4.0.2 crashes when a paste from Logos 5 rears its head. Edit: Posted a through bug-report. I Noticed that the bug seems to be connected to the footnote generation and that there might be some variance as to what resource is the source (hence which type of footnote is about to burst there).

Confirmed. LibreOffice 4.0.1.2 crashes easily with any 'paste' from Logos 5 under Windows 8. Now downloading LibreOffice 4.0.2, maybe that'll fix it?

  • Re: Anybody else having issues with the "megaphone" links in the NRSV?

"Update resources" helped me also. They were quite messed up before. Now there're just minor bumps and inconsistencies. For example, in John 9:1 the megaphone is inside the Jesus' answer and in John 9:23 the megaphone is outside the quotation marks. Well, at least the effect is a bit more logical.

  • Re: What is this symbol?

Greetings! Studying history is interesting and modern imagery often touches familiar subjects and borrows motifs from those early depictations. It should be noted that Hermes occationally wears a "petasos" (wide brim sun hat) with wings (see Flash, Jay Garrick for visual reference) It just doesn't look like this Logos picture, no way. I just got a bunch of basic 3d glasses and was anxious to try them on these pics. I've tried all the view options mentioned above. Now.. is it just me or have these options been removed alltogether? I'm currently unable to set any of these. The menu items I see are "Overview" "Actual Size" and "Fit" which all work, but even the "visual filters"-triplering

Suggestion: wait. Unless you belong to the staff responsible of online authentication servers there's very little you can do. They have been pushing their system with the Perseus collection and I was actually excepting some hardship. Tarry along.

Same here, can't sign in Online and a few logos-related sites are down. Seems like normal -yet unannounced- server behavior. It's bound to happen every now or then, but hey, at least the forums work :)

  • Re: Publication date: Good news bad news

I noticed the weirdest thing about those publication dates just recently: I bought a volume from the Warfield collection, namely "The Works of Benjamin B. Warfield, Volume 8: Perfectionism, Part Two". Inside Logos it seems to have a publication date of 2008, yet on the related page such date is nowhere to be seen. The correct original date that is mentioned

Yes, 92 -version is good. This is the preferred and modern translation that is in active use in all but the most conservative churches in Finland. While I'm happy that the 33/38 (aka. "the old translation" or "vanha käännös") can be used and is a useful word-per-word translation (for study-purposes only), for sermons there is a need to communicate to

  • Re: A Christmas Wish: English Translation of Targums

An english translation of Targumim to Logos is quite necessary as the resources already have the Aramaic texts. With an info-window (hover-translate Aramaic words with full definitions) some translation can still be done with relative ease. But alas, although the web can be used to get random a translation to ease the work, that's really not the way

  • About the resource, NA27

While working on a preseminary I found something weird: The citing of NA27 doesn't imply "27th edition" but rather "4th edition". What's going on? I know the text is supposed to be the standard issue NA27 and that the "27" stands for the 27th version. I got scolded a little for this on my preseminary, but it was deemed a technicality if not entirely

Easiest way to hit the right keys is Windows' own "On-Screen Keyboard". It's comes with standard Windows and switches key images according to the typing scheme needed. It doesn't update properly if you switch on the fly while it's on, but this can be overcome by moving the mouse slightly over the keyboard. Mouse can also be used for easy typing. It

The latest update (L4c) seems to cause this. I wonder if this "first time indexing" really is all that heavy of a process. I mean that the software stays quite functional if you pause the indexing during your work and let it chew when you are off the computer. Besides, I don't think anyone does defragging to his disks during his work. The machine does

  • Reinstalling Logos 4

At times it is necessary to reinstall Logos 4, maybe for the purpose of relocating it from drive C: to drive D: or something else. I'm not an expert on this thing, so this is rather a suggestion based on my experience. The wiki article at hand ( http://wiki.logos.com/Installation_and_Indexing_FAQ's ) doesn't deal with reinstallation and I think proper
