• Anyone else having problems with new purchases not downloading

I just purchased 'Crucifixion' by Martin Hengel https://www.logos.com/product/30913/crucifixion-in-the-ancient-world-and-the-folly-of-the-message-of-the-cross and the resource refuses to download after multiple restarts of Logos 6 and/or issuing the 'Update now' command. Never had this problem before with 4/5. Am I alone — is it just a glitch with this

  • Well done!

Dear Logos Team I don't know if anyone has posted a thread exactly with this subject (didn't see) the closest I saw was "Wow". Really have to congratulate you on the value add, analysis and semantic tools you have put into Logos 6. All the tagging work you started in L4/L5 is coming to fruition in Logos 6. The tools which help one to dig into and find
specifically those that are processor intensive such as indexing.
Yep, Logos 6 certainly gives the processor a stern talking to now. I indexed around 1,000 resources (that got updated with L6) out of my total of 2,400 and it was finished fairly quickly. The CPU was begging for mercy - I had to push up the CPU fan speed
This is my question exactly. Definitely waiting for user reports about stability and speed with version 6 on a mac. 5 is okay right now but won't be tempted to spend more $ for all the great new features until the bad old features are confirmed resolved.
Well I took the plunge and got the Logos 6 Extended Crossgrade

Also is Mono (the translation layer that runs the Windows .NET framework on Macs) which Logos uses also updated to 64 bit? That is, is Logos 6 fully 64 bit for Mac users or are we still hobbled with 32 bit Mono/.NET?
Yes it is still using Mono. But others have said it didn't necessarily

  • The million dollar Q. — performance improvement with L6 on Macs?

I did a search for this in the L6 forum and got no hits, so here is the question: Purely considering performance (ignoring the new features/media etc.), given that this was one of the stated goals of the next version of Logos 6, can anyone definitively & quantitatively comment about the performance increase with Logos 6? If one uses the same hardware

Hi Randy Sorry to hear you are having problems. I just downloaded the free book for October, thankfully my Logos (Mac) is indexing it OK. Have you looked at this posting on Logos 5 support pages? https://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/preparing-forever If that doesn't help it may be that you have corrupted resources or other issue. The first thing
[...] Not very user friendly on a Mac!!
You can't necessarily assume that the reason/cause for this is due to the Mac and/or OS X. You may not be aware but Logos for Mac is not a 'pure' (i.e. 100% native) Mac application. It has Windows code running via a emulation software layer called 'Mono'. I would actually say

Hi Eric If you are running OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) which was released in 2009 and is 3, soon to be 4, releases old then chances are your Mac machine is getting old as well. The age of itself is not necessarily an issue, it is more the question whether it supports 64 bit kernel OS X versions because Logos is moving to drop support for versions of
I recently upgraded my Mac to Yosemite
Yosemite is not official release software yet, so strictly speaking you can't 'upgrade' to it. Don't know if Logos has signed off Logos 5 on it yet, don't think they can because Yosemite is not final. Best to save your logs and post them, perhaps the community can help.

Not saying anything against WINE as such, but coming at this from another direction.... Is there a reason why you want to run WINE instead of a (full featured) virtual machine host like VMware Workstation for Linux 64-bit? Yes going the VMware Workstation route will cost you in terms of capital cost but you have to compare that (capital) cost against

  • Re: My Logos 5 program is very slow

Logos, on any platform, is not a speed demon to start with. Obviously people don't buy it for speed but for the books and the value-add of the platform. Logos Mac suffers in relation to Logos Windows because Logos is, essentially, a Windows app ported to OS X using a extra (performance affecting) translation layer. Mac users don't like it but... see
