Pastor Greg, I'm not able to reproduce this. Do you have any other type of scaling turned on? What is your monitor set to? Thanks, Philana
Hi Philana. I'm using a ViewSonic 32" monitor, set to 3008x1692 (the native resolution is 3840x2160). The same thing occurs at the native resolution of the monitor. Content

And, for further clarification, I had Logos set to 130% Program Scaling, since I have old eyes. When I set it to 100%, the full triangle appeared. The full triangle appears at 100% and 110%, is half of one side at 120%, is a little more than half at 140%, and is fully present at 160%.

I offer a partial humble apology . . . it seems that the little black line on the right side is a mostly obscured drop-down triangle; I thought it was junk on my screen. So at least THAT needs to be fixed, or "Look Up" needs to open that particular panel.

  • Re: Logos 8.7 Beta 1 (8.7.0.0006)

I need a direct download link for the beta. I wanted to downgrade to the current stable version, but a window pops up and tells me that I have documents or resources that require the beta, and then hangs until I force a quit. But the only way to get the beta (that I can see) is to set the update channel from within the app itself. And since the app

  • NO NO NO! BAD FAITHLIFE!

With Beta 8.7 the list of the five preferred linguistic resources (when the Lemme is selected) is gone from the Control/Right Click popup. This is a BAD move, Faithlife, no matter how you slice it. In fact, I wouldn't call it a feature, I would call it a bug. In one fell stroke, word study became several steps more involved. Unless I'm missing something
Logos 8.6 Beta 3 saved the day. It works great with OS X Catalina.
Works for me as well. For the record, I'm running Mac OS 10.15 Beta (19A501i) and Logos 8.6.0.0046. I've installed Catalina on my internal drive, using a secondary volume (created in Disc Utility). I also created a symbolic link to my Logos library

  • Is there a way to change the color of all text as a default?

Black is obviously the default text color in Logos. Is it possible to change the color of all text?

Mea culpa - I was using the beta; I deleted that, grabbed the latest release, and “download all” was where it was supposed to be.

Unfortunately, this will only download 100 resources at a time on my iPad Pro, and I have more than 8,000 . . . sheesh

DO NOT UPGRADE TO CATALINA AT THIS POINT For those who are interested (you know who you are), Apple released the public beta of Catalina, Mac OS 10.15, yesterday. I have installed Catalina on an external hard drive for the sake of testing. Logos never gets into the initial set up; it simply sits and spins at the "Download Resources" page without making

  • Highlighting - Logos has a mind of its own

I've noticed this for some time, and finally decided to post it. In the screenshot below you see some orange, some yellow, and "he lived as an alien" in blue. I didn't apply the blue. Logos did that on its own. Blue highlights frequently appear as I'm scrolling through the Bible. Corresponding Words is set to click , not hover .

  • Re: Trying to get a sense of how searches work

These are really helpful answers, Graham and Dave, thanks! As a reminder, pure word searches are obviously based on the text; Logos simply finds what's there. INTERSECT searches are based on how a person or persons decided a particularly word or phrase or block of text should be tagged – that is, their interpretation of the text – and we

  • Re: Trying to get a sense of how searches work

Ah, that makes sense. I do wish that Logos had a solid, comprehensive search builder (the sidebar is a great proof of concept, but it locks you into specific search forms, and doesn't involve more complicated searches).

DON'T UPGRADE TO CATALINA AT THIS POINT Hello Mac users - I know that you're all curious about Logos and Catalina. I'm signed up as an Apple Developer, so I was able to download and install Catalina last night on a separate partition, and then downloaded Logos 8. At this point the Logos installer will download the library, but crashes when Logos itself

  • Re: Trying to get a sense of how searches work

Mea culpa - I left out the "=" in a search when I reversed the terms: <Sense to transfer (move)> INTERSECTS <Person God> returns a couple of hundred references, while <Sense = to transfer (move)> INTERSECTS <Person God > returns just Colossians 1:13. And . . . the equals sign confuses me all over again. <Sense = to move>

Thanks, Graham, I appreciate it. Now I'm trying to get my head wrapped around the idea that "A" could intersect "B", while "B" doesn't intersect "A" in the same verse . . .

  • Trying to get a sense of how searches work

Sorry about the bad pun … OK, let's look at Hebrews 11:5 (I'm using the NASB). I right click on the word "took", and see the sense "to transfer (move)". I do a "this resource" search, and sure enough, Hebrews 11:5 is listed (along with Esther 2:9 and Colossians 1:13). Now I add "INTERSECTS <Person God>" to the search field, so that I am
