  • Re: The Precious and Sacred Writings of Martin Luther (14 vols.)

Thanks David, I bid at a higher price some time ago (though I mistakenly lowered my bid while trying to look more closely at the graph a couple of days ago! ) In any case, the price is now down to $25! Another triumph for community pricing! Colin

Hi Glenn, I'm wondering the same! Although I'm sure it's not as close to tipping point as it appears, it really does look as if it would go for £25 if 1 or 2 more people were to bid at £26. I don't fully understand the mechanics of it all but since 'a bid for £26 is also a bid for £25' it's probably safer to bid at £26 for those who haven't placed a

Thanks very much Bill. This will be my first PBB! I'll finally see what they can do. Colin

  • Community Pricing books on Typology and Hermeneutics almost at 80% of Production Cost

This post is about the Patrick Fairbairn 9-volume collection: https://www.logos.com/product/38317/patrick-fairbairn-collection I am hoping to bring it to the attention of more people through this forum post. One of the best available resources on typology is 'The Typology of Scripture' by Patrick Fairbairn. I painstakingly worked my way through this

The page has now been updated and allows much lower bids. At this stage, $25 looks realistic. Colin

This set is now down to $29. It dropped $5 in 12 hours, then quickly dropped another dollar. It is (already at this price) very good value set which will be great to have in Logos. For me, the 8 volumes of sermons included make this a vital resource for Luther study. Colin

  • Re: The Precious and Sacred Writings of Martin Luther (14 vols.)

Hi Michael, If you scroll down to the detailed contents, you will find thst a major part of this collection consists of Luther's sermons. Most of these are not available (yet) in Luther's works. In addition, this whole set will probably end up selling more cheaply than one volume of LW! Colin

When you finish the journey, you have to refresh the map page using your browser and a link for the free gift appears. I'll not spoil the surprise by telling you what it is! Colin

I notice that for some reason this collection of sermons https://www.logos.com/product/30949/the-sermons-and-lectures-of-john-calvin-in-english does not come up on the John Calvin (author) page when you do a search. https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=John+Calvin&Author=8459%7cJohn+Calvin&redirecttoauthor=true&start=60&sort=newest&pageSize=60 Could

I'd love to see this too. Perhaps if more interest was shown in this amazing and ambitious project: https://www.logos.com/product/30949/the-sermons-and-lectures-of-john-calvin-in-english or even these: https://www.logos.com/product/54172/institutes-of-the-christian-religion-1536-and-1541 there might be a greater possibility of it happening. Robert: I think your message needs to be considered carefully by Faithlife (by Bob). I have been a user of logos since libronix days and have reported numerous typos. Only recently have I started following some of the threads on the forums and become aware of many more issues than those I experienced myself. Although some complaints are of a minor nature

  • Re: McGee's Thru the Bible Commentary Version(s)

Thanks, Gabe, for looking into this. I had assumed (from your comment on page 1 of this thread) that I had just missed out on something which was offered to all who had the five-volumes-in-one edition. Like many others, I am grateful to you for resolving the ECF anomaly but I understand that this is a different situation. Colin

Hi Dan, Thanks for commenting. It says $379.95 for me. I'm hoping someone from Faithlife will sort this out soon. Colin

Thanks Dave but I tried that! I emailed with an explanation and a link to this thread. I got no reply. 3 weeks later I emailed again and got an auto-response saying they would look into it but that was a couple of weeks ago. So I thought I'd contact Gabe here because everything I've seen of him in these forums shows me he's a guy who gets things done

Hi Gabe, I'm a bit late to this party, but I have the old single volume resource and was hoping I could get the multi-volume resource unlocked too. (I don't know how to hyper-link Gabe but I hope he's fleeing this thread.) Many thanks, Colin.

  • Re: Luther on Psalm 22

That particular reference seems to be for pages 34-36 of Luther's Basic Theological Writings which are excerpts of Luther's works. The WA reference is to a German edition of Luther's works. So you would want to download the index to Luther's writings which cross-rrferences WA and LW and see if it gives you enough information to find the reference in

Brilliant - thanks Matthew - I hadn't noticed this one. It's well worth bidding on even just for the commentary on the Psalms since they won't be available in the Concordia edition for some time. Colin

Hi again Milkman, I have to say that I was intrigued by this reference to Luther on Psalm 22 and searched to see if I could find Luther's commentary on it online in English translation. Eventually I found it freely available here: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=f6IRAAAAYAAJ The book is Volume 4 of "SELECT WORKS OF MARTIN LUTHER: AN OFFERING TO

Hi Milkman, I can say something about Luther, but I'll leave it to someone else to answer your specific question at the end about searching for Luther's sermons. I'll just say that in my own studies, I've simply made a collection of all my Luther resources and can then search within it for specific passages. While this still involves trawling through
