• Re: KYLE: Why does this translation lack milestones?

I'll take a look at. In theory we could probably separate the paraphrase into its own Bible text but we'd probably want to treat this as a commentary. We typically don't treat Bibles that are already in our library as Bibles (i.e. RV, AV)

  • Re: ATTN: Kyle - categorization?
Hi Kyle, just wondering if the book below is wrongly placed in Bible Commentaries... I recognise that it has significant biblical milestones, especially with John's Gospel, but it still seems to me like it should either be a Biblical Theology or more likely, a Monograph. • Re: KYLE: Should this be type Bible?

Hmm...Good question. I'm not sure why we decided to classify this as a commentary. I think it was due to the huge amount of front matter, very little actual Bible text, and the ranged milestones. That being said, it wouldn't be of much use in the PG as a commentary so it would probably make more sense to change it to a Bible. It's more than a metadata

  • Re: Attn Kyle: Wrong Datatype for JPS Commentaries

Interesting! According to the copyright page of the Commentary on Exodus it's using the Bible (BHS) verse map. Yet, in chapter 20 of Exodus it is definitely following the Bible (JPS) verse map and moves the Bible (BHS) references into parenthesis. We can certainly swap the verse map. With any luck the resource is consistent.

And by reference I mean you get the title, author, publisher, and date of publishing.
If it is a title we have never carried in our library, the link functions as an abbreviation
Thanks Kyle, but you failed to answer my question. What should we expect from this commentary? So if you don't own that book no commentary. I think on your website you should note that because it says: All references to commentaries and lexicons are linked to your digital titles, And I guess as time goes by their will

Thanks Matthew AB: this is an abbreviation for a book that we do not carry. The link is functioning as expected. BKC: We carry the 1985 edition and this is a link to the 1983 edition. Because they are different editions we do not "open" the 1985 resource and treat it like an abbreviation. EBC: This opens the Expositor's Bible Commentary GNT: This opens
