  • Issue with Church Fathers resource on iOS

I've encountered a strange issue when reading the Ante-Nicene Fathers (vol 1) on iOS (iPhone 6s with iOS 10.3.3 and the most recent Verbum app). I get an opaque box over the text when reading in my preferred format (white text on black background. When I switch my preferences to black on white, the text is visible but displays in strangely aligned columns

  • Re: Knox Bible please!

It would be great to have the Knox bible but this and other books have been there for years. Do we have any evidence that Faithlife actually uses Uservoice votes to make decisions for future titles?

  • No Verbum app for current generation Kindle Fire?

Hi- I just purchased a current generation Kindle Fire 7 in from Amazon. For some reason, the Verbum app is not available for the device. It does not appear when I search for it from within the device's app store. When I navigate to the app on Amazon's full PC website, there is a message that Verbum is not compatible with my device. The strange thing

  • Re: What Tablet?

Bill, it's very strange that the tool didn't see your SD card. I recall that it offered to install it there when it saw that my internal storage couldn't accommodate the image. Have you attempted selecting "Advanced Startup" in the Windows 10 settings? That should boot to a recovery mode that would then allow you to select the USB device to boot from

  • Re: What Tablet?

Bill, It's my understanding that the license number of an activated copy of Windows 10 is forever tied to the device that it is installed on. Every Windows device has an ID that is imbedded in the actual hardware. Starting with Windows 10, Microsoft maintains a database of Windows licenses/machine IDs. I had the very same doubt as you did when I attempted

  • Re: What Tablet?

I just wanted to chime in with my experience. I have the original Dell Venue 8 Pro. This is the 2GB RAM/32 GB storage version. My library is relatively small in comparison to most people here but I still ran into major storage issues due to the tiny amount of on-board memory and the seemingly bloated size of the original Windows install. I initially

  • Which size iPad would you prefer for the mobile Logos/Verbum app?

Hi I have a question for those of you using a mobile device for your logos reading and light study. I currently have an iPad mini 2, which has served me well. Unfortunately, I've managed to shatter the screen and need to purchase a new device. I've never used a 9.7 inch iPad before however, I currently have the opportunity to purchase an iPad air 2

  • Re: New Church Fathers Expansion Libraries

Thanks everyone. Your enthusiasm has convinced me! Do you feel that the medium or large expansion sets contain any works that you would consider essential reading beyond what's offered in the small collection? I'm realizing that the Schaff translation really did put me off of reading the fathers for a time. I started reading a sample of one CUA Fathers

  • New Church Fathers Expansion Libraries

Logos has released their Library expansion collections and while, unfortunately, they have not created a specific Catholic collection, as in years past, the "Church Fathers Expansion Library" is filled with the CUA Church Fathers Series, which has been recommended to me in the past. I am currently limited to the Schaff Fathers series and so all the

  • Re: Logos 7 Library Expansions (formerly Bundles) are here!

It looks there's no Catholic Studies expansion package yet. Is there any chance that we'll see a Library Expansion akin to the old "Logos 6 Catholic Studies Bundle" in the future?

  • Verbum app crashes afterwards iOS update

Hi- hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I updated my iPhone 6s plus and iPad mini 2 to iOS 10.1.1 this morning. When I attempt to launch the Verbum app (current version in app store) the app crashes in less than one second. I've restarted the phone but the results are the same. Strangely, I'm not having the same problem on the iPad.

  • Re: Traditional Latin Mass

Great! I'll look forward to that. Would also be very appreciative if the 1962 missal/lectionary could be un-bundled and sold separately.

  • Re: Traditional Latin Mass

I'm actually in the same position as Greg in terms of adherence to the Extraordinary form of the Roman rite. I notice that in the "Missals of the Roman Catholic Church" package, the description of 1962 missal reads "this title includes the 1962 Lectionary." Has anyone experimented with the 1962 lectionary? I'd be interested in knowing how it interacts

  • Re: Request for Initial Thoughts - Verbum 7 Content

Thanks for your thoughts. I wasn't aware of the origin of the Schaff collection until I did a little more research based on your post. I hadn't caught on to any bias in the last year that I've been working with that translation (though I did find the English a bit stilted). Now that I've directly compared them, I understand and share your apprehension

  • Re: Request for Initial Thoughts - Verbum 7 Content

There are some very helpful comments here-. I currently have Verbum 6 Foundations and am trying to decide between upgrading to Bronze or Silver. This is just for my own personal study. In regards to the Silver package, I notice that it contains a lot of patristics/Church Fathers that I own as part of the Schaff collection. The Silver package includes

  • Re: Commentaries section missing from passage guide in Verbum 6 for Windows

Thanks very much for the advice. I wasn't aware that we could create custom guides. The lack of a commentary section persisted however and I was about to come back here and ask for more help but I decided to exit and restart first. Suddenly the section reappeared. Very strange but I'm glad it's fixed. Thanks again.

  • Commentaries section missing from passage guide in Verbum 6 for Windows

I was recently forced to reinstall Windows 10 on my PC. After doing that, I reinstalled Verbum and allowed it to download resources and index. Everything seems to be back to normal with the exception of the Passage Guide. There is now no section for commentaries within the Passage Guide. I'm not sure what I did to remove it but I can't seem to find

  • Re: Ipad Pro for Logos mobile App instead of Surface Pro 4 and full Logos

You may want to try a free app called touchmousepointer. Essentially, it makes your entire screen a virtual touchpad with a mouse cursor. You can turn it off and on with a tap of the taskbar. Another forum poster has mentioned this in the past (I can't recall his name but credit goes to him for discovering it). I use it on a small Windows tablet and
