• Best way to browse / verify library?

I upgraded to Logos 4 in January. In the last day or so, I upgraded my edition so I could get more books that I was interested in. Last night, the download of all the new content seems to have completed and been installed / indexed. However, I can't find a great way to verify this. 1) Is there someplace within the Logos software itself that I can go

Is "type" (from your comment) an icon or something like that when I'm viewing the library?

  • Re: Automatic downloads and throughput

I appreciate your response. As someone who's been developing software for 20+ years, the so-called "design" of a program should never trump user experience. In this particular case, there are a number of well-established mechanisms that can be used to verify complete downloads or to allow downloads to be done separate from the app itself and verified

  • Re: Book Previews
Logos badly needs to provide a better way to preview books. I can get a much better idea of what is in a book at Amazon than I can at Logos. Logos can do much better that a few screen shots.
This is so true. Use biblia.com or something to let us see what's in them, especially complete table of contents, index
I had done quite a bit of checking in this manner until I was overwhelmed and figured out a resverse cross-checking works much better. I start out with the Master Collection arranged alphabetically (cut & paste to notepad or spreadsheet) I determine what collection(s) the title is included in, if any. (This is where spreadsheet

All of these have been released since 2007. I sure would love to have them in Logos format. Pillar has one volume on pre-pub but

  • Re: Forum search improvement

This is documented elsewhere, but you can do Google searches targeted at the forums: site:community.logos.com {other search terms} This works pretty well. That said, I agree that the forum searching capabilities need dramatically improved. Logos essentially relies on these forums as Level 1 support, so they need to be useful as possible. Donnie
Some resources loaded faster but editing in Notes is still cumbersome. ... Does anybody have any thoughts?
Other than editing notes, you haven't provided specifics as to which L4 functions you try to perform that you think are too slow. Can you elaborate? What functions, and how long are they taking (in seconds)
Ok, I guess I figured it out.,, I should have read a little farther. Logos anticipated that many of us would own alot of these titles.. "You can either filter out the titles you already own to see what’s left ". So do you have to click each title and add it to your cart to find out the final price?
From what I can

  • Re: My New Laptop is ordered but still time to change if needed!

This should prove an interesting test case for L4 on fully-up-to-date hardware and a 64-bit O.S. Assuming you install L4 right away and haven't changed much else about it "as delivered", let us know how it performs. Donnie

  • Re: 2010 Christmas deal

If you (or Aaron) go to your account while you're logged in and then click the "Orders" tab under your name, does it show your Platinum order? If not, that might be the issue. In either case, it's probably worth contacting Logos support. Donnie

  • Re: Studying Matt 12:34-35 for an article

One thing I'd recommend is a study of how the word "heart" is used, especially in the N.T. The book "Saving Faith" by Gordon Clark ( http://www.amazon.com/What-Saving-Faith-Trinity-Paper/dp/0940931656/ ) has a short but fairly thorough study on this, and he concludes that "heart" at that time means what "mind" means to us now. • Bug: Collection volume missing in search results

I did a search from the main logos page for "reading the new testament commentary" (no quotes). It came back with a long list that I sorted by title, 60 titles to a page ( http://www.logos.com/products/search?q=reading+the+new+testament+commentary&start=300&sort=title&pageSize=60 ). The collection itself shows up on this page, as do 11 of the 12 volumes

  • Re: Amillennialism...

There should be a lot of Logos resources that cover the amillenialist position. It's the most widely-held view of those in the reformed and historic presbyterian traditions. If I do a search for "amillenial" in my library, I get 2,027 results in 707 articles in 307 resources. (I have most of the journals, which can skew those results). Donnie

That thread was super-helpful. I was close to making an impulse buy at that $598 price, but I'm going to pass. May regret it later, of course... I do keep track of all the sale
