• Re: Hosting a Logos Demonstration

Victor Dela Cruz, a Logos sales rep., drove about 4 hours to make the presentation this morning. He's a seminary student and did a superb job. The "gee-whiz" presentation wowed everyone present. Some people bought product. I was surprised by the interest in the hymnal material. I hope we made it worth his trip.

Called text support today. There are similar issues with a Hebrew insert that uses tables. Hopefully the problems will be resolved in an automatic update soon.

What does Logos use as the default font? If this was stated earlier in the thread my apologies for missing it.
So as you can see, my display is different from what you are describing. This was one of the resources included in the Christmas 2010 Master Collection, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Oh, and my screen resolution is set to 1280x1024
Thanks for the reply, Praiser. Hmm. I wonder what the difference is? Resolution

I wonder where and how I picked it up. I hate to say it, but it's my "go to" resource for Gospel harmonies. It has an honored place on my tool bar. Here's the Logos link: http://www.logos.com/product/1139/the-consolidated-gospel

  • Display Problems with Mills' "The Consolidated Gospel"

Friends, Some resources beg for every pixel of display available. Gospel parallels are a good example. When I open M.S. Mills' The Consolidated Gospel as a full-screen floating panel, often while the left, or "consolidated" column is full of text, the next four (individual gospel) columns are blank until I scroll down to EXACTLY the right spot. Then

( Egg on face !) This is what I get for going out of town for a day after posting a new topic! I am going to be an innocent bystander here. Logos is supplying a presenter. I'm pouring the coffee. I'm hoping some on the forums have been through this and can tell me what to expect.

  • Hosting a Logos Demonstration

It looks like I'm going to help host a Logos 4 demo to area pastors in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions? Has anyone else done this? My contact with Logos is Jordan Radke, Regional Manager for Ministry Development.
I run L4 on a netbook with a 30GB ssd. It does ok.
I'm intrigued, K.J. My 2nd PC is a netbook and I'm surprised at how well Logos works. I wonder if it would be helpful to start a new thread of netbook tips and tricks.

  • Re: The Great RAM Cram Debate

I would love to put a SSD in either my notebook (for Logos) or netbook (for instant-on convenience). I wonder if the $$$ I spent on an extra 4Gb of RAM might have been better used that way. I think the notebook has an empty bay for a second HD.
I doubt that one would notice any difference between 4 GB and 8 GB in normal use....
My NovaBench scores took a nice bounce with the upgrade: 479 to 510.

  • The Great RAM Cram Debate

Friends, There seems to be a strong difference of opinion on this forum about RAM. Some say 4 Gb is plenty and others say more, more, MORE! I recently upgraded my 64-OS notebook from 4Gb to 8 and I still have the old memory sticks! If we can agree on a Logos-centered test, I'll put my machine through its paces with 4Gb, then with 8Gb. I've already done

Nice, Bob! Congrats. Is there a noticable difference in L4, and if so, where? P.S. I have to say I like "infinity" more.
if you are pleased with the results then that is what matters regardless of what anybody on this forum has to say about it.
Oh, no! It's the placebo effect! Interestingly enough, a week after the upgrade my notebook crashed (OS corruption, not bad memory). I did a clean install of everything, starting with Win7

  • Re: New System

8Gb vs. 4Gb I upgraded from 4 to 8Gb of RAM two weeks ago. My results are anecdotal, but L4 seems much faster, especially after my first search or passage guide population. Could this be due to less swap file activity? Or perhaps more resources for video shared memory? My graphics card has 512Mb RAM on-board, but also uses shared memory. I also wonder
