• Guides notes migration test

Soon after the release of the guide notes in 8.5, we plan to migrate users' existing data from the old " saved guide " notes into Logos 8's Notes tool. We will begin by migrating guides notes for users who have been active in the beta program. If you would like to be specifically included for early testing of migrated guide notes (whether or not you
  • Re: "Failed to Load" during Logos 8 installation

Tanner, I'm very sorry for the trouble. That little dropdown depends on an online service that tells the application what resources should be in the "Recommended" download for your particular Logos 8 library. For some reason, you are getting an error trying to reach that service. The last time this happened , we were able to find, diagnose, and fix
Happens every time I open Logos...the first note keeps a 12 point, which I set as the default. The very next note then offers 11 point...and every other one thereafter.
Jack, is the same behavior you are seeing? The first note respects your default size, but not subsequent?

  • Removing Handouts in 8.5

Handout documents will no longer be able to be created in Logos 8.5. Handout documents were an experimental feature in Logos 4 on Windows (it was never supported on Mac), which has been officially deprecated for several years . ("Handout document" is not to be confused with the printable "handout" view of Sermon documents, which is still supported.

Please note that the command suggest adapts over time -- over your last 25 selections, if I remember correctly -- so it might take a bit to take effect.

In 8.5, as part of an ongoing effort to make Logos easier and faster, we plan to remove an option in the search panel called "Search (while typing)." This is a little-known and little-used option It complicates the user interface It can cause performance problems for the applications in certain scenarios Again, this will be removed in 8.5, which is

The reason for the change is 1) to reduce visual clutter on the screen, and 2) to reduce the friction on entering your next command. Having said that, I really like the idea of retaining a history of previous commands; I found myself wishing for that just this past week. When focus is set to an empty Go box, would you prefer a list of: Previous inputs
Logos Bible Software - Research - John
Rod, the title of the application in your screenshot makes me think you have a layout opened. If you open Program Settings, do you have "At Startup Open to" set to a layout? (Either a named layout, or "most recent.") If so, does changing the setting to Home or Blank Layout fix the issue?

"Don't lose user data" is one of the cardinal rules at Faithlife, and I'm mortified that we failed in this case.
