• Re: Where is the Englishman's Greek Concordance?

Fellas! What great brothers to have around! Thanks for the quick and thorough help. I just hadn't used this feature for some time and forgot how to get at it. J.D., I'll try your workspace too.

  • Where is the Englishman's Greek Concordance?

In the newest version of Logos, I can't find the old Englishman's Greek concordance. I'd like to find all the occurrences of a Greek verb, no matter what the tense, mood, voice and have the list display in English in whatever translation I choose. I used to be able to get at this by right clicking on a Greek word. I found I could do a Word Study but
It's looking to me, though, like everyone has a different methodology, which is why it's difficult to build something everyone's happy with.
Jim Dean wrote a really good analysis of the fundamental issues in his 2009-7-8 3:44 PM post. I hope that you are going to enhance notes along the lines of his analysis. That
As clunky as "notes" is, I still think it is pretty cool and has features and uses I have not taken advantage of (example, different note type, note color, etc,). I would love to SEE how other people do notes. Perhaps besides collecting them for their own development, Logos could have visual examples of how people use

  • Organizing Favorites

Unless I'm missing something you can't auto-sort favorites. I'm finding it pretty frustrating to organize my favorites. I've created quite a number of them and was finally getting around to organizing them so I can have quick access to resources I've connected with various topics (the topics are folders and subfolders). Suggestion #1 Create a feature

  • Re: Forum abuse, and what to do about it

I like some forums that have an thumbs up and thumbs down vote for each entry along with a tally. I usually skip the ones with a large negative vote. I have also seen many comment systems that have a link with each entry that can be used to report that entry as abuse. I admit these tend to be on blog comment systems rather than forums. I've never moderated

Wow. Now that's a quick solution. How appropriate that I'm studying the beatitudes - a quick lesson on meekness. Thanks Joe for putting and end to this before the thread continued in the wrong direction. It was nice of Bob to take the time to develop clear analogies and help us understand his point of view. I know that the rise of digital information

I too have several thousand dollars wrapped up in my Logos library and am getting up in years so this is a concern. I paid for and own these resource so I should be able to give them to whomever I wish and my family should be able to manage that when the Lord takes me home without being gouged. It would certainly be true for my computer and any physical

  • Re: Notes Files Suggestion/PLEA

Say Bob, I was thinking about your question regarding the hierarchy / indentation of notes and got to wondering which would make Logos run faster, one huge note file filled with links to Bible verses, or a bunch of smaller files. I have a file for each Bible book. I usually have them all enabled because I'll forget which ones are or aren't when I'm

  • Re: The feature to either delete or edit one's post in the Forum

I just re-read Ted's post which mentioned the MORE button and found that I can edit my posts. I think I had peeked under that rock at someone else's post and didn't think to try it at my own. George, I found the "replied" link you are talking about. Thanks for that help. You're right it's clunky, but better than nothing. -Have a great day, Jim
After sometime has gone by the "more option" on your right ("more") does not allow one to edit or delete. In the Newsgroup one can delete or cancel one's messages, i would like to see such a feature in the forum. Again let me repeat, it is possible to delete or edit one's post initially via "more" however after a period of time

A lot of you have now added thoughts/suggestions on specific technology, but I've only seen a few on HOW you use notes, you know, the role notes files have in your use of Logos an/or study/preparation process, which is what Bob Prichett said he was interesting in understanding. I realize that this may have been addressed in the past, but Bob was asking

Sorry to take so long to reply. The weekend was packed with events. It's good to hear you will improve the notes functionality. I use the notes to do research. I cut and paste stuff from various resources into the notes along with links back to the original source or I put a link in to a resource that I'd like to investigate further when I have more

  • Re: Threaded Forums via Email -- The best of all things

Joe. Thanks. I'm going to try this. I already interact with Yahoo and Google groups this way. I really find the web forum hard to navigate with any efficiency but I like seeing what people are asking and chiming in when I can. I just need to do it with more efficiency than this particular "very pretty" web forum format allows.

  • Notes Files Suggestion/PLEA

I've had Logos almost since it was first available and use it regularly. I like the convenience of the notes files, but the implementation remains amateurish. Could you AT LEAST make these improvements: 1. Make it so a note file can be split up into multiple files (export a portion of the tree) and allow a note file to be imported into another one.

  • Re: What do you think of web forums instead of newsgroups?

I really like the newsgroups because my email program (Thunderbird) gets all the headers automatically while I'm doing other work and arranges threads very nicely. I've yet to see a web post system that has a good thread navigation system and is as fast as the newsreader for finding and displaying interesting threads and knowing when someone has responded
