  • Re: Sentence Diagramming

I have this resource and hadn't looked at it much until reading your comment. The booklet is very basic and considering there's next to nothing for diagramming Greek sentences this can be a good beginner resource. The explanations of some of the difficulties a diagrammer might expect are good. For example page 166 he explains, " The verb is an equative

!!! Gavin!!! A fellow R/K aficionado!! I would love to see your Hebrews work. All my diagrams are available here, so if you posted yours (assuming their in Logos format) someone can make them available to the community. Even if they're not in Logos format I'd still love to see them. I'm working on 2Peter right now...... tough sledding, but Hebrews is

  • frustrated beyond words Hate L4 - Love L3

Loyal user since about '98. Purchased L4 the minute it came out and left it in the drawer for about a year until I thought all the bugs were worked out. Since I installed it I hate it. I hate almost everything about it,but I am especially frustrated with this: Every time I open L4 it indexes. EVERY TIME.... and it indexes forEVER!!! In addiion, about

After all my begging and pleading the needle hasn't moved!! What so I have to do to sweeten the offer? Walk your dog? Paint your house? C'mon!! This is a good resource. John Gill's "The Cause of God and Truth" is worth the 40 or so $$ by itself. It is a classi that should be in every Christian library. C'mon, let's pick it up, or, or, I'm just gonna

  • Shock

I've been using Logos products since the mid-90's. The format was primarily the same until the advent of L4. I purchased L4 and let it sit in the drawer until most of the bugs and features seemed to be worked out and then I installed it on my machine. It was different but I tried to get adjusted. Honestly, I did try but L3 was so much easier. Perhaps

For the last number of years Logos would send an email indicating a pre-pub was now ready for download. I'd click the "unlock" at the top of the page and a box would pop up with licences AND resources. Click update or dowload and life was good. Now, not so good. I can't find a way to download into L#... EVEN following the directions: "To unlock the

Back in the good ole days Logos offerred its customers 50% off on all downloads. This allowed customers the chance to decide their own sale. You say "underwhelming" for the 2011 12 days promotion? Too bad there's not a word to describe -under-underwhelming. Terry Cook sDg

  • Re: Not an exegetical question

OK. your argument isn't with diagramming then its with MJ's musings... I think. One cannot build a diagram or study the bible.... in isolation from it's setting. You points aren't making any sense otherwise.

  • Re: Not an exegetical question

I see... you're just wrong on this one. Let me explain: MJ asked, "How would you study the Bible if that's the only resource available." I said "sentence diagrams." I'd study the Bible by dissecting the sentences. I dissect the sentence and build a scaffolding. From that scaffolding I would build a "translation" and ultimately, an understanding. I think

OK, I think. So, your post has nothing to do with my post!?!?!? and you're making a blanket statement to MJ.?.? I think MJ was just musing "what if......." same as you and I might do: "What if I were...... handsome, rich, female, born in Canada....". It's an exercise of fun and relaxation I think.

[quote user="George Somsel"] There are two factors to consider: I don't recall who said it, but it has been stated that one should beware of the man of one book (Presumably he knows it thoroughly), yet If all you know is scripture in a translation, you really don't know scripture since anyone who only knows a translation of a writing doesn't understand
