I havethe three volume print version of Gurnall's Christian in Complete Armoour. Here is a quote: " Prideful by nature, man would like nothing better than to be his own god (though for clamoring so high he got his fall). Find a doctrine that nourishes a good opinion of man in his own eyes, and he will show himself a glutton at its table." Here is a

Robert, I have sent the KoineWorks zip file to you via yousendit. It's fairly large. Terry sDg

Attached is a "stick" diagram patterned off the Reed/Kellogg sentence diagramming system and modified by yours truly. The diagram is built using L3 but easily converts to L4. Surprisingly, I found this little letter to require more brain power than James and even more than some of Paul's stuff. I didn't think that would be the case going into it because

Aaron, The SD has been discussed at great lengths in the previously quite popular newsgroups. If you make your way over there you will find those discussions AND you will find several Reed-Kellogg diagrams (I have posted all 6 chapters of Galatians) as well as other types of diagrams. Sadly, the rich horde of resources that can be mined from the ng

This is discouraging. With ng's one can clearly follow any conversation; with forums (perhaps I'm just stupid) I can't determine where the first post is, who replied and when I find dialogue I cannot easily determine the order! Some dialogue is in a box and some is not. If I go to the forums homepage there's one post that has 140 replies. I don't see

Thanks Rick, This "works" sorta. I followed your instructions and de-selected all but 2:5-7a. Oddly, when I try to de-select 2:4 it de-selects everything; I tried to deselect all but the "line" which worked but the paste has a huge "gap." Terry sDg

I have posted Reed/Kellogg "stick" diagrams of the first 3 chapters of 1Thessalonians in the Logos "files" ng. Terry Cook sDg

In case anyone is interested I have posted the final chapter of 1Thess in the "files" newsgroup. The diagram is a classic "stick" or Reed/Kellogg type diagram of the Greek text. Included is a personal translation. Terry Cook sDg

I just got a notice a pre-pub was available for downloading: " New Testament Background Commentary." I followed all the standard procedures and later opened LDLS 3.0x and cannot find the resource. I haven't installed 4.0 yet. Any ideas? Terry Cook sDg

Thanks for replying Rich. I did run the update script, as I've done dozens of times, but I redid it again to no avail. I then thought I'd tried to synchronize my license and low-and-behold THAT worked!! Terry sDg

Back in the old days logos had real sales at Christmas time. More than once they allowed customers to purchase downloads at 50% off! A decent deal for sure. But in the last 2-3 years they've given next to nothing (in my opinion). This years 12 offerings are a farce!! Perhaps they need to hire a marketing person or two to explain what a sale really is

This is my first post in some time. I don't care for the forums, maybe because I don't understand them but nonetheless I really haven't had much to say until now. I first became a Logos user in 2001. Things have changed. Today I had an issue and decided to call Washington. I had a relatively easy billing issue, or at least I thought. I knew things were

Hi Dave, I've missed you! Yes, i'm still using L3 but I do have an L4 disk here at the ready. I bought a new computer, a real screamer, and I'm still finding my way around W7, plus, I'm wating for L4 to more or less "get finished." Terry sDg
-
Hi Floyd, You seem to "get it." If I were to go to Lowes looking for a tool or a part for a door and I was technically challenged and unable to identify the part by name I wouldn't expect a Lowes associate to cut me off in mid-sentence and direct me to customer service. Terry sDg
-
I don't why you misconstrued my statement; it really IS an exact parallell, even if you choose to call an associate a doorman. The doorman would NOT cut me off in mid-sentence. However, you make my point (unintentionally I'm sure) by saying the Lowes Operator "points to the proper dept." Terry Cook sDg

Hello Is, I hope the zip file is attached. Been having some troulbe with Internet connection as of late, I think because of an old, tired wireless router. If it doesn't work I'll repost when I get my connectivity issues resolvd. The tools in the KoineWorks zip are minimal and just for beginners. The real value is a short PDF that helps the beginner

Tried again for the 4th time with same results. The file seems to be uploading ((I have successfully uploaded zip files to this forum B4); the green progress bar runs slowly from left to right until it gets all the way to the right and then in the popup window the message "Windows cannot display" occurs! Attached you will find a zip file of 3John. The diagram was built using L3 but easily converts to L4. It will NOT work on Mac. 2 and 3John were surprisingly difficult little books to diagram. The grammatical and syntactic relations were not as evident as one might think given the size and limited vocabulary of these two treasures. The method used for

I did finally figure out the answer to the previous question: It was a very easy graphical query. I'm almost embarrassed it was so easy. I would like to generate a report of all the Greek words in 3John and the frequency with which they occur within 3John. I would then like to compare those occurring only once with their usage elsewhere in the NT. How

I primarily use L3 but nearly every time I open L4 it goes through a lengthy process of indexing. It slows the computer down to the point its almost unusable. Then, each time I "defrag & optimize" I notice the defragger app spends most of its time moving L4 stuff. I'm not a big fan of L4 anyway and this is certainly unwanted behavior. Any ideas? Terry
