  • Philemon Sentence Diagram

Bart Ehrmann recently commented that onl 7 of 13 letters of the NT attributed to Paul were actually written by him. Ehrman bases this on the idea that Paul "wrote in short pointed sentences." Philemon is the fourth letter attributed to Paul that I've diagrammed and through my personal study I say Ehrmann is full of it ! This little book is NOT in any

Hi Dave, There are about 326 words found only once in 2Tim and probably not more than 25 used exclusively here. I followed your instructions (I think) and got 12,506 returns! So, where'd I go wrong? Terry sDg

  • Diagram and TOV of Greek 2Timothy ch 4

Attached is a R/K diagram of chapter 4 of 2Timothy from the Greek text. The diagram is built using L3 but easily converts to L4. As far as I know it will not work with a Mac. Also, below is the TOV of 2Timothy. Terry Cook sDg I Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, according to the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus, send greetings

Back in the good ole days Logos offerred its customers 50% off on all downloads. This allowed customers the chance to decide their own sale. You say "underwhelming" for the 2011 12 days promotion? Too bad there's not a word to describe -under-underwhelming. Terry Cook sDg

  • Shock

I've been using Logos products since the mid-90's. The format was primarily the same until the advent of L4. I purchased L4 and let it sit in the drawer until most of the bugs and features seemed to be worked out and then I installed it on my machine. It was different but I tried to get adjusted. Honestly, I did try but L3 was so much easier. Perhaps

Does anyone have any recommendations for excellent commentaries/books on this book? I have the platinum logos edition, but am more than happy to buy an extra book if it's not in part of that package. Thanks! [/quote

  • Greek Sentence diagram of 2Tim ch 1

3566.2Timothy 1.zip Greetings in the matchless name of Christ, I have attached chapter 1 of Paul's 2nd letter to Timothy. The diagram is built using L3 but is easily converted to L4. The theory behind the diagrams is a modified version of the Reed/Kellog "stick" diagramming method used to teach English grammar when I was young. Terry Cook sDg

Happy to see them in the hands of God's people I noticed on Wiki the 6 Galatians diagrams are not there nor are 1&2 Thess, Jude, the rest of James etc. I don't know how to add them but maybe they'd be of some value on that site? Terry sDg

Enclosed you will find a zip file of 2Timothy chapter 3. The file is a Greek sentence diagram built using a modified Reed/Kellogg method of "Stick" diagramming. The diagram is built using L3 but easily converts to L4. One important feature of this diagram is the TOV, my personal Greek to English translation: 3 You can be certain of this- in the last

John Gill (1697 – 1771) was an English Baptist pastor, biblical scholar, and theologian who was a staunch Calvinist. His most wonderful published work is the "Cause of God and Truth," a book I've owned and cherished for years. From this book alone I have discovered more nuggets of understanding than perhaps any theology book I own (over 1,200). Let

[quote user="George Somsel"] There are two factors to consider: I don't recall who said it, but it has been stated that one should beware of the man of one book (Presumably he knows it thoroughly), yet If all you know is scripture in a translation, you really don't know scripture since anyone who only knows a translation of a writing doesn't understand

OK, I think. So, your post has nothing to do with my post!?!?!? and you're making a blanket statement to MJ.?.? I think MJ was just musing "what if......." same as you and I might do: "What if I were...... handsome, rich, female, born in Canada....". It's an exercise of fun and relaxation I think.

  • Re: Not an exegetical question

I see... you're just wrong on this one. Let me explain: MJ asked, "How would you study the Bible if that's the only resource available." I said "sentence diagrams." I'd study the Bible by dissecting the sentences. I dissect the sentence and build a scaffolding. From that scaffolding I would build a "translation" and ultimately, an understanding. I think
