  • Re: Slower than molasses in January ...

Hello "M.J." (Thanks for so many helpful PBB's!) If it is any comfort to you, all through the beta process my MicroSLOW error reports each took OVER 7 minutes. As you can see, I was rather, "negatively" impressed. Regards and sympathy Steve

  • Re: 4.0a Beta 2 Release Notes

Could you folks confirm two things: I have Logos on laptop (used for church powerpoint etc) & on Home tower. I cannot/must not mess-up the laptop, therefore new Beta versions will not be put on it. Nor do I want the Tower to synch any "beta" version with the laptop. 1. Therefore, I assume I must add the "extra" install under another "user" in order

  • Re: Resource Associations...

Thanks Damian, I'll keep trying. But today I had no choice. A combination of circumstances meant that there was just no available time left to 'nurse' it along. But I mean it when I say that it is "pretty." It is! I've also ordered the 2 new Morris Proctor manuals. Hopefully he can bring a "bridge" from the "old" ways. I know I cannot "go back to Egypt

  • Re: Resource Associations...

Working on the 2 core 2 Gg Ram 2. ghrz laptop (NOT the P4 one core) I find this new right-click version very frustrating. Some posters here are very intuitive, able to grasp L4 quickly etc. It is very hard to UN-learn L3. Everything I try to do (governed by L3 expectations usually ends in SLOW moving parts or no movement at all (right clicking: I may

QUOTE: maybe the "older" Core 2 Quads. The new Core i5 and Core i7 should be ideal together with Windows 7. But the cheaper Athlon X4 Quad cores are OK. Thanks, David, this is helpful. I had just been looking into one of the "older" Quads. I'll keep on thinking, searching tweaking... Steve

  • Re: Slow Logos 4

Dave: My older P4 does not run it at any speed that is really usable. It must be asked to do ONE thing at a time I can run it fairly well on a dual core laptop if I stick to ONE resource at a time with NO "follow" windows ie. "Cited" "Information" "Bible Explorer" etc (It means I have to trust the right arrow key and + sign to get the resources correct

  • Re: Downloads and CD's only for L3?

If you have any of the Nelson "Life" works that contain audio files you will need L3 to run them. they are organized through the specific product home page (eg. Lucado) You need his L3 Home page to access his tapes. L4 does not have Home pages. (Eventually?) I cannot remember Bob's answer to this one - besides "You can keep L3 " Steve

(As a former beta tester) I can still access this Thomas, But for those who were not in the beta group, is there anyway to "rescue" this material? Steve

  • Re: Personal BB

Hi Milkman: There is a possibility that we may have to "re-compile" our PBB's under the upcoming system. BUT the problem is, until it appears and is beta-tested we just do NOT know. ALL Bob has said is that it will be better ie "as featured as L4 books" (I think that is fair?) We are all in the dark. Therefore, do you need the harddrive space? Can you

I have Webbers "worship" books and Preacher's Commetary in L3 - it works in L4.. Not sure which "New International Commentary" you mean. If the one that just graduated from Pre-pub, yes they also work in L4. In L3 load one of Webber's books Under HELP click ABOUT THIS RESOURCE go down until you see Resource Location - the file should end in .lbxlls

  • A "News line" will swamp the Forum

http://community.logos.com/forums/p/4812/38384.aspx#38384 Dan had commented in the above thread that no system wide "Newsline" email had been sent announcing the release of L4. Even without that "Newsline", with the influence of the Beta Testers and the availability of the Web site, obviously many, many people already "know" about L4. They just do not

(After re-reading Bob's July post) As always Bob is much more generous than some of his staff (after all, as owner, I guess he is allowed). And yes, I also read that back in July. But the spirit of it had certainly not filtered down to the 2 CS reps I spoke to in October. Steve

    Steve, I can only speak to #2 (If some of the following is already known to you, please excuse this). # 2 God revelation and Authority previously appeared in L3 Scholar's "Gold" with the id# GODREVAUTH.lbxlls It now appears in L4 as LLS:42.100.23 2009-10-27T02:36:04Z I do not know which "Level" your previous Scholars was. ie Scholars; Scholars Silver;

Donald, if you leave up your "saved" layout as you exit the program (hopefully that is also what you want as a default) - the program will automatically reload that layout the next time it opens. Is this what you are asking? Steve
