• Re: Indexing has encountered a problem
Logos Bible software 4 Indexer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I received this message once - after I'd moved a number of resources to "hidden". After I accepted the update for today, everything worked fine. I don't know that is what resolved the problem but its worth a thought.

Don't you think such specialized equipment should be included with the software?

  • Kudos and a round of applause

For the first 24 hours, Logos 4 has been very smooth and problems small. Thanks to all those working long hours to meet deadlines and provide customer support - including those brave souls who participated in the beta.

  • Biblical Things

Yes, I realize that Biblical people and Biblical places are grayed out. However, Biblical Things also appears to have a problem. The Bible citations work correctly, but when I click on the item I get an error message. Annoyingly I can't copy & paste the error message: One of both of the required resources (Things & Lvc) are not currently available.

  • Notes

I'm missing something on the intended use of notes. I'm only getting notes attached to a single reference in a single translation. [Yes, there is an expansion as to what I can place notes on.] But I think I'm missing the intended use of the notes, clippings, space on passage study etc. Where does Logos envision my putting the note listing the ten (toldot

  • hyperlink in note

When I click on a hyperlink in a note file, nothing appears to happen. Any secret I need to know to get computer cooperation. I believe prohibitions against other gods prevents me from burnt offerings to computer gods.
I found that the lectionaries do re-appear in the ribbon if you restart Logos 4.
I've not quite had that experience. My experience: 1) After the update of Logos 4 today, the lectionary reappeared 2) When I attempted to move it, it disappeared again; 3) Scroll arrows inactive when 3 items show; active if 1 or 2 items

  • Addition to the library / collection functionality

In general, I like the way the new library management works. However, once I found the appropriate place to add my own tags, I realized that a least one of my tags is sufficient useful to best be provided by Logos in the standard information: canon I use Protestant, Lutheran, Anglican, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Slavic Orthodox, Syriac, Armenian and

Yes, I finally have my brain working correctly on this - I found the PC download. If I could only find its companion brain download.
This works ...
Let me say I was wrong - I quit and restarted Logos. On the restart the hidden resources continued to appear in searches. I then got a Logos indexing error while writing this message. I'll see if it works AFTER any reindexing works correctly.

  • Re: unneeded resources

This works ... but I am getting frustrated because the Library window does not stay open AND I don't seem to be able to select more than 1 resource at a time ... yes, there is a lot of material that I never look at - pastor-type stuff.

  • Re: Problem with Logos 4 customization of home page

A restart got the topical reading list back but the lectionary has gone missing even if I narrow the window to make the scrolling prove it works. It also is no longer in the box of the customize pop-up.

  • Graphic representation of search results

This section - in general very nicely done - seems to default to 23 Bibles. It appears that I have to go in and unmark those I don't want. Is there a way to have it default to my top Bibles? That is usually all I want to see.

  • Tell me it isn't so ... Result map for Bible search results

When I search on "Judith" the grid results show 50 verses in which the name appears ... does so with excellent speed and a clear presentation. Thanks. However, when I switch to the result map - nice feature, by the way - only 1 verse appears. Are the deuterocanonical books omitted from the graphic representations? Does the result map ignore the Jewish

  • Problem with Logos 4 customization of home page

I tried to change the order of the Lectionary and Topical reading list ... only to have them disappear completely.. I did succeed in changing the default Bible but that's all that went as planned. Anyone mastered this yet? Thanks.

  • Logos 4 Reading list feature

This feature is very nicely done. I like the organization and hope the pattern can be retained. I agree that all entries including locked resources should appear initially. However, I would like to have: 1) a view of everything unlocked 2) a view of everything unlocked and unread These may be available but I've been unable to find the help function

  • Re: Logos Bible Software version 4 is here!!!

Yes, it's here - the interface is familiar - looks like a programmers' environment - that's good. I have a a few problems initially but I've not yet tried to resolve them. - library appears as if empty; Bible people and a couple of other things grayed out ... I'll try it out more thoroughly tomorrow.
How are the readings decided? (or Who chooses?) Why are they always Gospel related?
First, let me note that the local (now defunct?) Stone-Campbell Bible College (Puget Sound College of the Bible) was suggesting the Revised Common Lectionary as a source of readings in the 1980's. And the blog of Hicks indicates

  • How does lectionary-based Bible study differ from non-lectionary-based Bible study?

It varies slightly depending upon the lectionary but using the RCL as an example: Every Sunday has 3 readings with the following characteristics: 1st reading - somehow is thematically related to the Gospel except in Lent when it gives an overview of salvation history (Old Testament except iin the Easter season when it is from Acts) responsorial psalm
