• Re: Downloadable update

Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to a computer that does not have internet access. L3 allowed you to download a file, about 130Mb, that was an executable file that would update your existing installation from a flash drive/CD. I was wanting to update to 4.0b on this computer.
My apologies.
Accepted, but not necessary. I truly appreciate the time and effort that Logos, the MVPs and all the newsgroup users put into helping those of us who are not as experienced with Logos as you all are. A little help means a lot!

  • Re: What is Logos to you?

I purchased my first computer in 1995 and wanted to get some bible software. Someone at my local Christian bookstore helped me decide between Logos and their competitor at the time. He recommended the competitor. I purchased it and for years, never really used it that much, because I never felt that it was that powerful of a tool for my bible study

  • Re: Logos work windows on two monitors

I have my Logos workspace stretched across two 22" monitors. As was mentioned above, you can't do this full screen, but you can restore down and just stretch it to fill both screens and it works great. I feel really cramped when I run logos on my laptop now and don't have as much room to play with...

  • Re: Logos Across Two Monitor

If you haven't figured this out yet, all you need to do is hit the Restore Down button in the upper right hand corner of the LDLS window and then stretch the window across both monitors. I find this quite useful. It would be nice if this were a feature built in to the program - hopefully it will be in v 4.

  • Libronix update problem

Recently, when I run Libronix update or the update addins script, under Optional Resources, it is showing that the NIRV and the TNIV have updates available. I do not have licenses for these and if I download them, they are locked. Is there a way to avoid showing updates for resources that you don't have a license for? - I've never had this problem before

  • Re: How much have you spend on Logos?

In response to the original question, I have spent $1758.89 since I first purchased Logos in 2005 (for a total of 924 resources). Oddly enough, I only have the Bible Sudy edition and have made numerous purchases without ever upgrading to Scholar's. The two library builder packages were great purchases. I hope to make the jump to Scholar's edition at

  • Re: Logos 4 Cannot Find Resources

I had the same problem. Mine began downloading my resources soon after installing Logos 4 (shown by the blue icon in the systray). I have a little over 1000 resources and it took nine hours for mine to complete. I did not "see" any resources until this was done..

  • Re: Minimal Upgrade Package?

In response to Robin's question: I called them today and ask them the same question and the answer is "no." The discounts you see are incentives for you to upgrade your package when you go to version 4. I am wanting to purchase the discounted Word Biblical Commentary this week and can't make two $400 purchases at once, which really bums me out. I'm

  • Re: Library Management options in L4?

Thanks for the info! By the way, you can simply type the lls number: lls:29.1.10 and "Open the Bible Reader's Companion" is shown as an option. Tom G.

I feel I must echo what Josh has said. When I first dove into Logos 4 this past week, I confess that I was a bit unnerved and a little disappointed. I decided to dive right in, dig into the help files and really make an effort to figure out what Logos 4 is all about. I found that the problem was not with the software, but was with me. I guess we all

  • Re: Missing Resources

If you click on the Library icon and open it up, in the upper right hand corner you will see "prioritize." Here you can select the resource(s) that you want to pop up first in the information window. You can customize it as you wish - very nice I must say!

  • Re: Logos 4 Newly Beloved Features

I like the scrollbar bookmarks, information and power lookup windows, and I love the look and feel of the panes/windows interface - very easy to customize. One of my favorite features is having a picture of the book at the top of the pane and also having the information button to click on for a summary of the book - and you can even hover over each

Do a search in the help file on scrollbar bookmarks or read-wear marks. It gives a pretty good description there.

  • Re: Q's on Shipping

I ordered the Word Biblical Commentary last Monday when Logos 4 was released. It showed up immediately on My Account page with tracking info through UPS. It didn't ship out until the next day. They didn't notify me, but it's easy to check on your account page.

  • Installing new resources in L4

I just purchased the Word Biblical Commentary. I couldn't find a way in L4 to install the books. I ran the installer, which installed them in L3, then after syncing my licenses, L4 downloaded the commentaries over the internet. Is there an easier way to do this from within L4 without using L3? I miss the library management tools from L3...

I have even noticed general sluggishness while browsing through my library. Simply scrolling in a bible or book tends to be jerky. I hope they can take care of this issue. Vista Home Premium 2.4G Quad core CPU 4Gb RAM

My problem seems to be worse with my laptop, which is a 2.0 Ghz CPU Duo core, 4gb RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. It very well could be video drivers, although they are the latest available on HP's website.
