• Case-sensitive searching questions...

I am attempting to do a search in L4 to find "LORD", but not "Lord". To simplify things, I am just searching in Psalms in the NIV. With "Match all word forms" selected under the search panel icon: Searching "Lord" or "LORD" finds LORD and Lord. (802 results) With "Match case" selected under the search panel icon: Searching "Lord" finds LORD and Lord

  • Installing L4 on PC with no internet

Is it possible to install L4 on a PC with no internet access? I tried this once and the first thing it does when you run it is ask for your Logos username and password. Is there any way that this can be bypassed? I can copy my resources to a flash drive for install from another PC... I've read discussions about this on these groups, but never came across

  • Reading plan behavior

I just set up a two week reading plan just to see how it works in L4. I found that the way it divides up the readings seems very unbalanced. Most days, like the 18th and 20th have me reading 7 to 10 chapters but yesterday set up for two. (That's about 37 verses compared to around 140-150 on most other days.) Does anyone know how it divides up the readings

  • Re: Reading plan question

I had a similar concern with a reading plan of mine. Sometimes it would have me reading 8-10 chapters per day and one day it had me reading only two. (That was about 140 verses compared to 40 verses.) It didn't make any sense to me... If I remember correctly, L3 let you choose chapter boundaries or pericope boundaries.

  • Re: Preparing Your Library runs forever

If I remember correctly, mine took about nine hours with 1100 resources. Give it a little longer and see if it finishes up. I think I made it through the "Preparing your library" stage rather quickly. (Just a few minutes) The indexing part is what took so long with me. Not sure if you are in the same situation or not...

  • Re: Store typo reports while offline?

I spend a lot of time offline, too. I tend to manually write down typos and take care of them when I get back online. Storing typos would be a big help.

  • Re: Day 12 of Christmas Special

Hhmm... I was kind of excited when I saw this, but now I wonder. Are the negative comments because you own it and don't like it, or are you "just not interested?" I too was a little disappointed in the Christmas specials, but not because of Logos' choices. I think they did a great job on what they selected and they were great deals. I just own the Bible

  • Re: Collections

I don't have an answer, but I share your concern on both counts. It gets very time consuming when creating a large collection...

  • Re: what happened to my prioritization?
Did you notice any other changes (collections, notes, etc)?
The only other change I noticed was in one of my collections, there were four new resources added. This collection, I call "New purchases", so I have no rules set up to automatically add resources - I just manually add them as I buy stuff. Today I noticed

  • Re: How do you launch a book by using just its file name?

I have also found that you can type in the file name (e.g. 4000questansr) in the quick navigate field and sometimes it will open the resource. This is very convenient, but I am not sure why it doesn't work on all resources. I do this occassionally to see what books were downloaded in an update...

  • Re: Just made the leap to Silver

I just upgraded to Scholar's and now I'm considering upgrading to Silver. I think it would be worth it, just for the commentaries. Anyone have any opinions about the New American Commentary? Or for that matter, the Holman N.T., Keil and Delitzsch or the Pulpit commentaries? I wasn't even aware of the Cascadia Graphs. I have had no seminary training

  • Re: WBC on Sale

I signed up for the MM emails as well as Logos Newswire and I still have yet to receive the WBC or the BDAG/HALOT offers. I, like some others here, am just wondering if the mass-mailings are truly "mass" mailings or are they selective? I, too, think that Logos would not try to send offers to a select few, but I can't help but wonder what is going on

  • Re: Question of resource availability and or of formatting...

Please keep in mind that the iPod/iPad app is free. Yes, it has a few bugs, but I am sure that a lot of work has gone into it. I would much rather have the app that I have on my iPod than nothing - they didn't have to develop this (or they could have made us pay for it...) Developing for a platform like the the iPod/iPad takes resources and $$$ and

  • Re: Preferred Bible - Reference lookup on iPhone

I am having the same issues with this. My prioritzed bibles on my PC is the NIV (which I know is not available on the iPod) and then the ESV. If I am offline and click on a bible reference, it always goes to the 1890 Darby bible. If I am online, it goes to the NASB95. Is there any rhyme or reason to this or a way to select your preferred bible on the

  • Re: Can't update Logos on my iPod Touch

I think the whole problem was that my 11 year old son had Logos (with my login info) on his iPod Touch and it was associated with HIS iTunes account. I deleted it from his iPod and iTunes account and did the same on mine to start from scratch. Unfortunately, Logos would not download, (My iPod just continued to say "waiting" under the Logos icon.)
