  • Re: doctoral programs

I have been accepted into the Doctor of Educational Ministry program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, but won't be starting officially until next year. I applied early for lower tuition and I had a chance to apply for free. It's a four-year program there, and I'm still waiting to receive the specifics on how it all works.

I knew about the 9 and 12 hour requirements for graduate and undergraduate work, respectively, however I've never seen anything listed anywhere for doctoral work.

This isn't directly Logos related, but does anyone know how many credit hours is considered full time in a doctoral program?

  • Re: My Library Away From Home

While I've never tried using Logos over a remote connection app, connecting to your home computer, but I can only imagine it wouldn't run that well. I agree that the best way would be the web-based application. While it does require internet, you can do almost everything you can with the full desktop application. The iOS/Android versions of Logos are

Bob, I enjoy your transparency with everything y'all do at Faithlife. However, most of the newer changes for the church I pastor, which is small (50-70 on Sunday Mornings) are a moot point for us, because our internet service where we live is almost non-existent (satellite internet, which really cannot fall under the realm of "high speed" as it claims

  • Re: How have the forums helped you?

As someone who has limited access to internet capable of streaming videos, I heavily rely on the forums for figuring out different aspects of Logos Bible Software. Most of my questions I am able to search and find answers to, or answers that lead me in the right direction. And those answers that I cannot find are answered very quickly in the forums

  • Doctrine within a passage

Is there a tool or a way to search within Logos to figure out what doctrine or doctrines a passage may be talking about or referencing?

[quote user="Liam Maguire"] Hi Phil, That seems reasonable to me and I am more than happy to pass the details on to some non-logosians. A quick question: is there any way you could provide a basic list of the resources contained in the bundle? It would be good to be able to highlight some of the key resources (especially commentaries, etc.) when talking

  • Re: Second display

I use the app Duet, which requires use of a lightening cable to connect my iPad to my MacBook Pro, however, it's integration is great and not very laggy at all. The only time I really experience lag is when I have entirely too many applications running at once as a result of not paying attention.

[quote user="Randy Kyle"] I have a real problem with Logos including Moos Commentary in the NICNT Sale of All Volumes $29.99 or less. Sure enough, all volumes are that price but they include Moos Romans Commentary at $69.99. That is called a bait and switch. They could have suppressed that and so I let my opinion known to a Logos representative and

[quote user="Jack Hairston"] That would be handy, but I have never seen anything about an outliner tool in Logos. • Re: 12” MacBooks

Believe it or not, a rice bath saved my laptop. The water was dumped on the keyboard area while it was on, causing it to immediately turn off, showing no signs of life. The charger didn't even light up when plugged into the laptop, which usually is a sure sign of death. So, Praise the Lord!

I’m going to try the rice thing and hope it works. But it’s showing absolutely no signs of life, and most Mac products savable by rice show at least a little bit of life before trying rice. As for AppleCare, I am a huge fan of it, unfortunately this Macbook’s AppleCare Protection ran out in January. It’s a 2015 model MacBook

Does anyone use Logos on the 12“ MacBooks? If so, what specs on it? My daughter just poured a glass of water on my 2015 MacBook Pro rendering it completely dead so I am in the market for a replacement. Thanks!

  • Re: Preaching: Foundational Certificate Program Reading Bundle

I just spoke to someone at Logos and they said I would be getting three books: Chappel's book on expository preaching, Preaching the Word on Matthew-Sermon on the Mount, and another book on the Sermon on the mount. I should have written them down. So it's not worth it for me to get it.

I'm on a 2015 MacBook Pro, 13inch with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD, 2.7Ghz i5 processor. It runs great for me, and I rarely hear the fan, even when indexing. I generally only hear the fan when it's indexing at the same time as my backup is going. I use it with an external monitor, having Logos windows open on both monitors. Logos 8 runs so much more smoothly
