  • Re: Question About "Update to Current Snapshot"

No. I don't think so. I just did an update to current layout and then closed and reopened the new layout and it came out as the updated layout;.

  • Re: Upgrade costs

While upgrade costs can be somewhat nebulous, in my opinion (especially if money is tight) you are better off buying a cheaper base package for two reasons: 1. You can always upgrade to something else and the upgrade price is going to be roughly similar to paying the difference. If you pay somewhat more or less then what you would have had you bought

  • Re: Trying to figure out how the different base packages compare...

Just some thoughts on buying a base package. 1. Unless you're really constrained by money, do not get the Christian Home Library. It doesn't have any reverse interlinears so all of the cool things you can do with those are unavailable. 2. If you're not exactly sure what you want I would buy a lesser package over a more expensive package because you

  • Re: Unexpected highlighting

It's pretty useful for some resources (I actually have it checked in all my resources because I like it so much). Where it is REALLY useful is linking from a Bible to a lexicon. Say you're looking at the definition of a word in BDAG with multiple meanings. Which meaning is correct for the word in your passage? If you have "Links to open panels" checked

  • Re: Unexpected highlighting

Hmm...it could be the visual filter "Links to Open Panels" is active, so that if you have a Bible open the commentary will mark the verse that your Bible is at. If you think this might be it, click on the visual filter symbol in the resource and deselect "Links to Open Panels." It will no longer highlight verses in that resource.

  • Re: Load Bible study pane with prefered saved layout?

Yes! On the Home Page click "Customize" in the bottom left hand corner and then deselect "Load Home Page at startup." Whatever your last layout was when you closed Logos will now load when you start it up.

  • Re: What's your favorite undocumented feature?

CMD + Click on the library button DOES open Library as a tab rather than as a floating window, although this DOESN'T work for backgrounding links. I'm assuming that double clicking on the space next to an open tab is functionality that is coming to MAC but not working yet. Clicking on the + next to the tab DOES bring up a list of parallel resources

  • Re: Logos 4 and french Bible

Hi William! Great to hear from you. You do NOT need to buy a new MAC Package. It is a free download for the engine. Follow this link http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LBS4MacInstaller/Logos4Mac.dmg . I have been running both the PC version and the Mac version on my MAC while the MAC side gets all of the Logos 4 features. It generally runs great, although

Do you know what version of Logos 4 Mac you are running, Gordon? I'm running 4.0b with the Update Channel set to Beta and don't have this problem.

Indisputable visual evidence of EXACTLY what I mean. Here is a Microsoft employee explaining one of the "coolest" features of Word 2011 - the addition of Math Tools!?! http://blogs.msdn.com/b/murrays/archive/2010/11/22/mac-word-2011-and-math.aspx I'll bet about what, 1% of users turn to Word for math. The rest of us pull out a calculator...

  • Re: create hyperlink from Pages or Word to Logos resource?

I tried to hyperlink this way in PowerPoint and Word, but neither worked. However, I am using Office for Mac 2003. Not sure if Office 2011 has that functionality.

Hi Gregg: There is a page on Logos Wiki that explains how to hyperlink from PowerPoint back to Logos (including a link to a video someone made explaining it). I assume that this will also work in Word. http://wiki.logos.com/Hyperlinks#Adding_Hyperlinks_in_PowerPoint

  • Re: Logos for MAC or PC

I run BOTH on my macbook pro for now, but work mostly in Mac. The Mac version lacks some functionality of the Windows, but is slowly catching up. The thing that most annoys me about the Mac version is that User Notes that are linked to Bible verses do not link automatically with a versified Bible as they do in Windows. Once you get too many notes they

Hi Kolen: Send Logos an email at suggest@logos.com and ask for this functionality. I'd like to see a global "Links to open panel" as well because I find it quite useful too. John

  • Re: Logos 4 and french Bible

I think someone is working on a French Interlinear for Logos, maybe they'll get it out soon. To compare French Bibles quickly within Logos one can go to www.lire.la-bible.net and then drag that internet link onto the shortcut bar in Logos. This allows one to click on the link to quickly open a page where one can compare translations of 5 French Bibles

Hmm...thanks Mark. I THOUGHT it was Leader's library, but we'll have to recheck because it doesn't make any sense unless he has the Home library... John

  • No interlinears working

HI guys: I have a buddy who has Logos 4, but none of his interlinears are working and don't show up in his library, even though he has (for instance) the ESV bible in his library. Has anyone seen this before? We thought it might be an indexing problem, but it appears to have finished indexing. Thanks, John Murphy

  • Re: Hot Tip: Not Highly Rated Collection (Thanks Mark Barnes)

The beauty of Mark's idea is that you don't have to go through your library and tag or mark everything. Whatever isn't 4 stars or higher is excluded, so you just drag the "Not Highly Rated" collection into "exclude these resources" in any collection and you automatically get just your highest rated resources. Simple and elegant.
