  • Re: Indexing Question

It is somewhat beneficial to re-index. According to Logos if you do a search of your entire library, since it has to search both the regular index and the supplemental index there is a slight degradation in performance. A new supplemental index is added whenever a small amount of resources are updated. When there is a huge update it automatically re

  • Re: Accessing Notes On Mac

I don't know of any ETA, but I do know that they are aware of it. I'm sure they will get around to fixing it, just not sure when. In my opinion, the Logos note taking system is getting better compared to Logos 3 (I now use it for devotional note taking), however I do not use it for Bible study/sermon prep. I find that it is not powerful enough. A lot

Absolutely without question, yes! I attended a Camp Logos several years ago shortly after I bought the software and I was immediately light years ahead of where I would have been had I simply tried to learn things myself. You can save money by watching the Logos produced videos online, but there is nothing like sitting in a seminar and DOING while Mr

  • Re: Bible Background Collection @ Mark Barnes in particular

This is my Bible backgrounds collection which I got from I believe John Fallahee, if memory serves. If you want to use this string, you just start a collection in L4 and copy and paste it into the "Start with resources matching" box. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it's one possibility. (title:(manner, custom, background, archaeolog, archeolog

  • Re: Display all occurrences of all words in a given Bible book

It seems like you could just do a Bible search, limit the search to the book you want to search, select which Bible you want to search and then select "match case" in the dropdown menu. For instance searching the book of Matthew in the ESV for "Kingdom" gave me 54 results in 52 verses. Searching without matching the case (so it picks up other forms

  • Re: Logos 4 for Mac Crashing

I think the search feature crashing is a known bug that they are fixing (maybe have fixed by now). I had the same problem with search, but have not had the problem with people/places/things. Those reports have run great for me.

Yep. I noticed the same thing in VM. Doesn't make it unreadable or anything, but it DOES appear washed out.

  • Re: Shortcut key for highlighting the same word?

Do you mean using the highlighting tool? Once you highlight a word or passage with a color, if you highlight another and hit Cmd (apple) + K it highlights that word or passage with the last highlight type that you used.

I imagine it IS a popular resource. I would LOVE to have it. Unfortunately, I cannot afford it. I use the LDGNT all the time and consider it my most important NT resource. Anyone want to GIVE me the cash for it, I promise I will order! So sad...

  • Re: Backup

One of the nice things about Logos 4 is that you don't need to back it up. All of your books, not to mention, note files, etc. are backed up on Logos servers. If someone were to steal your computer tonight, all you would need to do is get another computer, log in to Logos, download the program and the program would do the rest, download all your books

  • Re: iPhone Recommendations

Undoubtedly the answer is, buy as much memory as you can afford because FOR SURE you will need more then you think. For instance there is this cool app called "Dropbox" that you can run on your computer and iPhone and it allows you to just drop files of any kind into it (from your computer) and then they will be available on your iPhone (either via

Add me to the list. Thanks for the recommendation, Mark. I profess myself guilty of never having heard of the commentary series, but it looks pretty good, and this particular approach to commentaries is what I find most profitable for my own Bible study.

  • Re: 1) Why Logos and 2) Why Logos over Accordance

I have (and use) both Accordance and Logos (Running it on Mac now, although I've also run it on Windows). They are both fine platforms and whichever one that is chosen, it will enhance biblical studies immeasurably. If I had to choose one over the other I would choose Logos mainly because Logos has many more resources available and is generally (but

  • 4.0c release not searching for my resources

Hi everyone: Since I installed Logos 4.0c RC2 when I do a search, Logos no longer searches my resources, it only searches the Logos resources, so my clippings, etc. aren't searched. Am I doing something wrong? John

  • Turn off footnotes in copy and past?

Hi everyone: Is there a way to turn off footnoting when you copy and paste from a resource to a word processing document? What I mean is I just want to paste a citation into a word processing document without footnoting it.

Hi John: Give us some more specifics, someone is bound to be able to help you. I've been using Logos for Mac alpha and the parts that are functioning seem to work pretty well for me. Since it's an Alpha version, it is not fully functional and there are bugs to work out.
