• Re: BUG: Home Page does update (it did in v. 7)

Also, if I change the name of a prayer list, and close all to go back to the Home Page, it does not show as updated. But eventually it will if I go back and forth a few times. I am not sure how this is working if its very slow or is requiring some action of mine to update the prayer list title on the Home Page?

  • BUG: Home Page does update (it did in v. 7)

When I go to the Home Page now in v. 8, it has not updated - for example, it still shows reading plans as "You've completed your reading for today." If I click on a reading plan, it goes to the correct pace for today, showing today's reading, which can be confusing.

  • Verbum home page incomplete

I am actually on the beta released today, Logos mobile app seems fine, but Verbum app doesn't even have a Featured section on the Home Page, and the store section is blank. It's been about 6 hours, indexing and loading are long-done. Also, I assume prayers or Home page don't sync between Logos and Verbum mobile app (or with anything else)? It's kind

  • Re: Liturgy of the Hours/Breviary for Verbum??
Chris, I hear your passion! I will be overjoyed the day we can have a breviary in Verbum. There are a lot of Catholics (and non-Catholics!) who want to participate in traditional prayer and learn to pray the daily office, and I agree that incorporating it into the software would expose it to new people and make

  • Re: Make Logos 8 look more like Logos 7
Changing the scaling certainly made the interface look a lot better for me. I had to drop the program scaling down to 80% and then bump the content scaling up to 120%. Now it actually looks good. Looks cleaner, fonts look less fuzzy and with less crowding, it's like a whole new program when you adjust the scaling.
This

  • Re: ESV Read Aloud issue

Mine does the same as OP - open ESV, verify Heath is narrator, start read aloud. When it gets to the start of a new chapter, it switches to the default narrator even though the setting is correct. Just stopping and restarting the read aloud clears it until the next chapter.

  • Mark all forums read?

Is there a way to mark all forums read? I see on each forum there is a link to mark an individual forum read, but especially in times of heavy volume (like now), it's impossible to keep up when you are expected to click a link and wait for a screen update to mark each of 53 forums read, individually. If there isn't a way, could we have one?

I noticed in the Morris Proctor Quickstart 8 video we all got, he has that video on his Dashboard. I wonder how he got it there?

Am I only able to add the Quickstart layouts to the Home Page? I would like to add my own named layouts there and I can't see how to do it?

  • Re: What is a Course Card?

Ah! Thanks all, I had one 1 course in progress from the Courses tool, and it was already on my Home Page! I get it now. Maybe I'll stop and watch some videos on how to use 8 - I'd h8 to keep asking questions without looking at the help that is already on my pl8 (er, laptop but that doesn't have an 8 in it).

  • What is a Course Card?

I tried to add a Course card to Home Page, thinking it would be a Logos Mobile Ed course - I have a lot of them. They still are in my library, but it must not be this as nothing shows up for me to add from "Course". What is it?

I am watching the QuickStart for Logos 8 Morris Proctor videos, in the 4th one "Survey the Desktop", the audio drops out at around 2:20 for about a minute. It seems to do it consistently. Is anyone else seeing this?

  • Is Community Pricing dead?

I am wondering if I have missed a shift in policy or something...I check Community Pricing weekly, and it seems it has been months since anything new has been added - based on viewing the list ordered by "Newest". I also have been watching for anything closing, "Progress" and I have not seen one of those for months either. Is Community Pricing dead

  • Logos/Verbum a battery hog on Mac

Interesting, Apple invented the concept of "battery shaming" on the Mac as a way of showing us just which apps were consuming a lot of power, and encouraging the makers of those apps to fix them. So I checked this on my Mac - just click on the battery icon on the toolbar....this is a version of the latest release of Verbum, it has been up all day, it

  • Re: MacBook Pro 2018

Fixed! Testing is proving the fix is good. In short, they updated the power drawn from the Voltage Regulators on the system board, which causes the laptop to run cooler and stay within spec'd speeds. Performance up, temps down, more consistent in all phases. Success. Buy away! This will now be a killer laptop as it performs to spec. https://9to5mac
The lower-end 15” and 13” configurations are ok, as far as I know. I don’t think the entire lineup needs to be avoided.
Apple has not commented yet, but from user tests this does not seem to be true, at least there is risk it's not true, which is why my recommendation is to avoid them ALL at least

  • Re: MacBook Pro 2018

It appears from sorting all the testing going on right now, that there are two serious problems with the 2018 MBP product line. First, the Intel CPU used is rated to draw approximately 45 watts in order to stay within maximum temperature - this measurement being called Thermal design Point, or TDP. In tests, the CPU is drawing in excess of 70 watts
