• Re: Help: Any one know of a PDF to word program that I can use for my personal books?

When I convert a paper book to digital, I use ABBY Finereader 14 and it does probably the best job any program can do. Of course it all depends on the quality of your scans too. I chop off the spines and feed it through my ScanSnap at 600 DPI, so my scans are really really good. Then you can export to Word or RTF or just embed the text inside the PDF

  • Re: How’s Bruce Waltke Commentary on Genesis

His Old Testament theology was fantastic, especially in connecting with the background of the ANE. I'm sure his Genesis commentary is just as good. Highly recommended as an author and biblical scholar.

  • Re: Loeb Classical Library - Complete Set?

Hi Gregory, Sorry that happened. Logos' primary market is in digital books related to Bible study. I'd say they probably have close to 30,000 digital books for sale at the moment. They're the world's leading Bible software company. https://faithlife.com/about Good thing for you is if you decide not to keep the Loeb collection you purchased, Logos has

  • Re: Zondervan Counterpoints Series

Well, we're Catholic so we don't have the same problems that arise among our Protestant brethren. I don't like theological buffet lines, so I wouldn't recommend these books with the intent to figure out whether the chicken or the beef is the better choice. I somewhat regret not making my earlier tongue-in-cheek comment more obvious. Sorry Mr. Anderson

  • Re: Zondervan Counterpoints Series

Does it ever bother anyone that the onus of deciding what is true about the Christian faith is placed on every single individual believer? Like, we all have our reasons for believing after, say, Calvin, or Wesley, or Luther, or anyone else, but at the end of the day, how do we know which one is really right? These books are nice in that they present
Sigh. Your recommendation led to (yet) another purchase during an expensive season to be a Logos Bible Software user. Thanks!
Ha! That's funny! I made it kinda tongue-in-cheek though! But you're welcome, and yeah, its been an expensive season for Logos!
Anyone read and/or utilize books in this series? Do you find them helpful? The Cyber Monday sale peeked my interest as a potentially useful resource to get the 30,000 ft view of an area of interest.
These books are basically your second Bible. They're a great resource to decide for yourself what major and minor
The question that rarely gets asked is whether YHWH considers "compatibility" of Biblical revelation with the above fields of inquiry to be nothing less and nothing more than an idolatrous worshipping of creation over the Creator.
Frankly, I see it no different than how we approach meteorology, embryology, or astronomy

  • Re: What is the best Christian resource on dinosaurs?

The writings of Hugh Ross and his perspective on the different geologic ages of earth corresponding to the seven days of creation were helpful in my transition from a strict six-day creationist to a position that wasn’t hostile to basic science. It wasn’t so much the science that I needed (which is clear to anyone approaching it fairly and
I understand what you are asking about, however, let me offer an alternative perspective. The question of dinosaurs is a scientific question about paleontology. Because the geological, astronomical, and paleontological evidence is clear and irrefutable, as believers it’s time to except the evidence of science. The

Thanks Graham for the link. I think this is a good reason why I've scaled back my pre-pub and Community Pricing buying these last few years. Its too expensive to be Logos' guinea pig, when I can wait and get things at a better price later on.

Based off of the link below and the price I can see, the 127 volume Fathers of the Church series is 60% off, which appears to bring the price down to just around $900. https://www.logos.com/product/33665/fathers-of-the-church-series I remember paying $1700 for this series when it was the pre-pub price, so for anyone who was wise enough to wait, now
