I would happily buy this whole set!

  • Re: IVP Spectrum and Zondervan Counterpoints

I wouldn't bother with either. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is sufficient enough. It's not our job to decide which doctrines are true.

  • Suggestion: Less is More Regarding Line Numbers

Dear Logos, Any chance all these numbers can be removed from the resource? Or at least parred down a bit? In the books themselves they only show up every fifth line. This is from the 3rd volume of Great Books of the Western World.

  • Re: PBBs: PDF to Docx conversion - Is there a better way?

Here's a short reply for some big programs. But if you have a mac, consider DevonThink Pro Office. Best way to describe it is Logos Bible Software for everything else. Its not refined for Bible's, of course, but acts as a content management system for any sort of information you want to throw at it. Its got an iOS app too for syncing. But like Logos

There's absolutely no reason why this shouldn't be The Complete Works of Charles Dickens.

  • Re: Joint the Great Books Challenge reading group

So following the link I posted above, I put together the first year's worth of reading from the Great Books series and the Gateway to the Great Books set. I was going to directly upload the files here, but it seems I can't do that anymore? Either way, I'll post links to my Onedrive account so anyone can get them if they want them. I'll include both

Oh cool! I'm going to be starting this effort too come tomorrow. I put in to join the group. What reading schedule are ya'll planning to use? I've got this one here that I'm going to follow: https://westerntradition.wordpress.com/great-books-project/ Its a seven year plan to read both the Great Books and the Gateway to the Great books set.

  • Re: Abbyy Finereader

Whyndall, I Have FineReader 12 Pro at home and I'll try to convert it later tonight and see how it comes out. Could that be a trial "feature" perhaps? With that said, I absolutely love the program. I use it to digitize thousands of pages of scanned books, and its OCR ability is heads and shoulders above Adobe Acrobat's. Great program.

  • Re: Herodotus in logos?
I'm reading through an archaeology book and it mentions Herodotus' The histories in several spots. I tried searching logos for it but I only found this. Does logos carry that book? It seems like they should
Its also in the Great Books of the Western World set, which is worth the price. https://www.logos.com/product/55052

Catichism of the Catholic Church. Denzinger's word would probably be very helpful too.

  • Re: What happens to our library if faithlife goes under?

Without too much work its not too difficult to convert books to PDF. If Logos ever when under, that's what I would do.

Also, there are a bunch of other Loeb volumes languishing on CP too! The writings of Cicero and Livy come to mind!

  • Re: Logos 7: What have you bought, and why...?

Justin or Mark, By any chance could you link to the original explanation for how this works? Any examples so I could understand it a bit better? Interestingly, I purchased a Starter Package to see how it effected prices on larger libraries and the price of my target library actually went up!

  • Re: How Will Logos/Faithlife Handle This?

Faithlife never removed Mark Driscoll's sermons from people's libraries when it was discovered he plagiarized other people's work too, so they probably won't do the same here.
