  • Re: Transitioning Print Library to Digital (Logos)

For the sake of argument, let's assume the books are all in the public domain. Here's my actual process for digitizing books: 1. Cut off the spine. I use an industrial paper cutter to do this in one fell swipe. The cutter cost me about $100. 2. Scan the pages. For this I bought a Scansnap IX500. Runs about $500-600, but it scans super fast. Can scan

Asking about this too. Also noticed "Ancient Christian Writers: Volume 16 - Proof of the Apostolic Preaching" by Irenaeus isn't in the series either.

David, Don't you know? History doesn't repeat itself, and even if it did, this isn't the forum to discuss that, as the local finger-waggers will be happy to tell you. How dare you apply current events and growing secularism with a helping of religious hostility to our pristine and unsullied forum! This is our place to put our heads in the sand! Such

Its never happened in recent memory so people don't take it seriously. Yet I wonder if I'll see the end of the northwest in my lifetime. I wouldn't want to live there.

I agree with your concerns, as they are highly relevant in our digital world. Amazon has not only refused to sell digital books, but have also removed them from user's devices. This is one of the major downsides to digital material licensed to the user. Its only "ours" as long as some corporation say its ours. This holds true for Faithlife too. Thankfully

Chris, You can reformat the computer to separate the SSD drive from the HDD in the eyes of the Mac operating system. They are combined using software, not hardware. So switching a few things can allow you to set them up as two separate drives so you have total control over what goes on them. I have a 2017 27in IMac that came with a fusion drive (128GB

When I convert a paper book to digital, I use ABBY Finereader 14 and it does probably the best job any program can do. Of course it all depends on the quality of your scans too. I chop off the spines and feed it through my ScanSnap at 600 DPI, so my scans are really really good. Then you can export to Word or RTF or just embed the text inside the PDF

His Old Testament theology was fantastic, especially in connecting with the background of the ANE. I'm sure his Genesis commentary is just as good. Highly recommended as an author and biblical scholar.

Hi Gregory, Sorry that happened. Logos' primary market is in digital books related to Bible study. I'd say they probably have close to 30,000 digital books for sale at the moment. They're the world's leading Bible software company. https://faithlife.com/about Good thing for you is if you decide not to keep the Loeb collection you purchased, Logos has
