• Re: No NEW Journals - why not?

I typically don't respond to this thread because I don't want to add with meaningless or repetitive chatter, but this was interesting research Phil presented. But if postings can be regarded in any way as votes of any kind, then journals are VERY important to me. Furthermore, top journals are much more important than lots of journals, as others have

  • Re: No NEW Journals - why not?
What is needed is this: an annual update for each journal bundle, available every year, produced in a timely fashion....
Indeed. The nature of having journals and doing academic work is that you MUST have a consistent stream of new things coming in. Otherwise, we'll have to check what's in Logos and then go to the
Include a Spaced Repetition System to the flash cards, that is similar to Anki or Memrise or Brainscape.
I think the Flash Card system could use some TLC. There's such great promise for having such a tool in the Logos Universe, but I know their developers have a ton on their plates.

I thought I saw someone comment about this, but I can't find it. This appeared in my shopping cart. What is it? Thanks!

  • Re: Organisation Strategy for Monographs
Has anyone got a sweet strategy for organising their monographs so they are nice to browse? I have a couple of thousand and I know there are hidden treasures in there...
That's a great question. One way I've approached monographs is passively: Let Logos do its thing when I search for info on topics or whatever. But

  • Re: Flip side learning using Logos Flashcards

I've started looking into other apps as well. I've stuck with Logos Flashcards because I like being able to go from verse to word list to cards so quickly. But I'll admit, it needs a little richer feature set to compete with some others in terms of creating and effectively using cards outside its bailiwick.

  • Statistics in Logos Flashcards

There seems to be a problem with the Statistics portion of Logos Flashcards. I've got a stack of 34 cards, all of which I've clicked "Got it" several times, but it still shows that I've only learned 22 of them with 12 to go. If it makes any difference, I've got "Spaced Repetition" turned off. Thanks! Lew

  • Flip side learning using Logos Flashcards

Is there a way to quiz yourself using the reverse side of the cards using Logos Flashcards? For example, I've got a stack of Latin words, and it'll show me the Latin word and I'll come up with the English translation. However, I'd also like to see the English word and come up with the Latin translation. I'm using Android. Lew

And the variation of this I really love is: fsd in journals But you can also do bizarre things like fsd in lexicons Nerds like me have strange versions of fun.

  • Re: Any Chance of Getting Plotinus' Enneads (Loeb)?
I'd buy them! It's strange that they haven't yet been offered through Community Pricing: Plotinus seems like an obvious buy for people interested in religious studies.
I actually got online to say the same thing!
But then again, I thought the same thing about the Stoics (Paul, anyone?), but they haven

  • Re: Base Packages more like Library Expansions

They ought to invite a few of us to be on a committee to put these packages together. Not that they don't already do a great job, but it would be interesting to get other points of view in what's included. And there are about a half dozen other folks on the forums that I'd include, too. We could set up conference calls, etc. I can see it now.... But

  • Base Packages more like Library Expansions

It would be nice if the Base Packages were more like the Library Expansions. I've pondered the BPs many times and frankly, while there's usually a ton of great stuff, there's just too much irrelevant fluff for my needs. But the LEs, while containing a few oddball throwaways, are generally focused and really sharp collections. In fact, this recent sale

  • Re: Dynamic Pricing Oddity: Expansion Sets

I've noticed that the pricing has behaved very predictably over the last week or so. I'll confess that I've indulged a bit on these collections, giving the site several opportunities to exhibit weird pricing modifications, but I have not seen it since my last post. Either something has been fixed, or my previous experience was anomalous. In any event

Hey Glenn, The list below shows two prices for the following bundles. The first price listed appeared right after I purchased Biblical Interpretation XL. The second appeared after something else, such as dropping it into my cart. I'm sorry; I cannot remember the specific action I took in each case. But I was pretty systematic in recording the two prices

I would check out Rediscovering the Parables by Jeremias. Its scholarship and perhaps its method are a bit dated, but it's a pretty important contribution.

  • Dynamic Pricing Oddity: Expansion Sets

I've bought a few expansion sets now that they've got an attractive discount that's hard to resist. But the dynamic price behavior is a bit odd. Two observations: 1. Today, on the product page, I had a price of $147.13 for one expansion set. When I clicked the button to add it to my cart, the price shown was $148.52. Not a huge deal, money wise, but
