• Re: Conflict of Interest?

Some of these MVPs I have known going back to the old Logos usenet newsgroups. Them, along with the newer ones, follow my general impression that they are honest and generous volunteers. The company is solid too and Bob has answered my emails on more than one occasion. The value of generosity and integrity only comes from a group of people choosing

  • Re: Initial Reaction to L8?

Not to diminish any critical feedback, I have to say at least in terms of my expectations and experience is that L8 is the best Mac version ever. (I started with Series X on Windows, but moved to 1.x for Mac when it came out.) To me what makes L8 great is not the bells and whistles, datasets, etc., but speed and reliability. There is a clear improvement
Still wishing for Carta maps in Logos.
Without sounding ungrateful for the amazing tools that we currently have, on my wish list is still an Atlas tool that blows us out of the water.

  • Re: Logos 8 removed the button to change preferred Bibles

I could be wrong, but similar to removing the 'i' button from resource panels, I suspect the intention is to try to simplify the interface. I get that. Therein lies a challenge. Some aspects of a UI probably don't statistically get used a lot, but to those that use them, it is essential in their workflows.

  • Is it just me? The 'i' button...

Really appreciate the speed and stability of Logos 8. At least on the Mac platform, this is the best since we started on this journey with Logos 4. Well done team Logos! Whew! What a journey to get here! I like some of the tweaks to the UI and I am probably in a minority, but I'll throw it up in case there are a few unusual Logos users like me out there
The links in Recommend Reading are a selective list from the author of the individual survey articles: they are not intended to be comprehensive (and they include resources that aren't in Logos, if the author felt they were important).
To aid with helping users proactively understand this, would it be worthing considering

  • Re: Is Logos 8 an improvement?
Do you think Logos 8 is an improvement? How?
Yes. Speed and stability. For some there were some elements left from some of the tools in shifting from version 7 to 8, losing therefore some feature parity. Personally, for what I use Logos for I was pleased and did not look back.
the right set of journals
I have a bias, but the Galaxie theological library was not a bad little library considering. The current master collection has a lot of stuff that is so broad I don't know if I could ever use it. That being said, I have been impressed how Logos has grown over the years to leverage

  • Re: No NEW Journals - why not?
I'm not suggesting there isn't interest beyond this group (I know there is; our Pre-Pub numbers demonstrate that). But I was a little surprised to learn that there's a relatively small group of folks who are really engaged in the journals conversation. I don't think we should conclude too much from this, but I thought

  • Re: Can anyone replicate this crash with L8 Mac Factbook - Kingdom of God?

Thanks everyone. If it is replicable, I don't need to dig further here. As far as versions goes, I am running Mojave (10.14.1) and Logos (8.0.0.0591)... so it looks like we have here ourselves a really nice bug and hopefully one of the bug swatters will see this in the forum.

  • Can anyone replicate this crash with L8 Mac Factbook - Kingdom of God?

Logos Mac - Version 8.0.0.0591 MacOS Mojave - version 10.14 When I open the Factbook for Kingdom of God, then go to cultural concepts, expand the section of Apostolic Fathers, then click 'Save As Passage List', I get a crash every time. (see screenshot below) Can anyone else replicate this crash?

  • Re: Logos 8 v 7 - Whats missing?
LOGOS 8 Saint resources are treated essentially as Daily Devotionals - lacking the date control (and hence, saint list control) of Logos 7 ... this is useful for personal devotions LOGOS 7 Used a specific resource to index saint resources into a sanctoral (worship) cycle that was used to plan liturgies and worships. • Pretty impressed... Logos 8

I need to say, wow! I am pretty impressed with Logos 8. Not the tools, the bundles or the features, but the speed and stability. I have only have one bug that is a carry over from Logos 7. I probably need to report it at some point, but it is not a big deal. At least from my point of view, at least for me, this is the best performing Logos version since

  • Re: OFF TOPIC: Digital Ebooks versus Print

Interesting thoughts everyone. Thanks. When I made the switch to digital, the hard part for me was that the more I engaged a book, the more part of my memory of the material was where it was physically in the book. I missed this in digital and it was like driving down the road without your headlights on. This was particularly the case for my paper Bible
