• Re: Bob: The mistake of bloat v real value increases
I know several people who have chosen to spend their $X000 with Accompetitor because of the better offline lookups on mobile apps. But wait, they miss out on the empty tomb interactive!?! To think that would influence their decision is laughable. But Faithlife spent development dollars on it because it increases 'value perceptio

  • Re: I Simply Do Not Understand Anymore
Perhaps the long-ago decisions to give away the core engine and to offer free life-time support need to be reassessed. Perhaps they need at some point to say that the software itself is what they will rent (not the resources). That will make a lot of people unhappy, but I'd rather pay a monthly rental for what I use (the software

  • Re: Faithlife Connect - what's missing?

Well this is an important point... The DNA of Logos Now was focused on the software and there was a bonus of getting access to Faithlife TV, but it was not the main draw. The shift of Faithlife connect is to promote the whole ecosystem and really take the subscription concept to the next level. To swallow the pill of a subscription increase is one thing

  • Re: Faithlife Connect - Defining the issues & looking for a path forward

Another key issue is that I believe Bob or someone on these forums said the Logos Now user base was a bit more than 1% or so. So while it could be possibly assumed that in this group were some hard core fans who might come onto the forum and fuss about the changes, Logos will be looking at what the rest of the user base does or says, particularly if

  • Re: Faithlife Connect - Defining the issues & looking for a path forward
5. Faithlife is struggling to find a sustainable business model for the future. Logos Bible Software gave the company a very large and established customer base who are largely only interested in the world's greatest Bible software getting greater - and purchasing resources to use within it. One you purchase a book, you never
The problem is category (c). These are the folks who have large libraries and will not bring in a lot of money to FL in the near future as they are near saturated in their book buying. They just want to be able to keep up with the SW developments. That's what LN looked like at $100/yr.
Yup! Well said. I wouldn't mind adding

  • Re: Introducing Faithlife Connect

There are several issues going on here... 1. Logos has to embrace the subscription model. To Bob's defence, he has been talking about it for many years and we see this happening in the world around us in many instances. The transition, particularly for users that have invested 6 figure sums and are now subscribing to content they have already paid for

  • Re: Logos Now and Faithlife Connect: The Why
Worse, as the tail wagged the dog, Logos Now subscribers (who turned out to vastly outnumber Logos Cloud subscribers) began seeing the product's entire value as the regular release of new features. (Which was not the original intention.)
WOW! Entire value? I don’t have access to your market data but at least

Punish? I don’t know, but certainly maybe not identified with in terms of how they might find the change hard to swallow. Change comes hard, but failthlife starter is no replacement for logos now.

  • Faithlife Connect - what's missing?

Excitement. Had time to study the Faithlife Connect deals tonight - I need to pay double to retain what I currently have and get some stuff that I am not interested in. I get change and transition. Change is not easy. I'll make it work. It is not the end of the world and we have been to more than one Logos rodeo since Series X. I was starting to wonder

  • Re: Logos Now Subscription

I highly suspect that the launch of Logos 8 is going to be highly intertwined in a big way with Faithlife Connect... what that will look like, I suspect that rather than buying a feature set, you will be purchasing a discounted subscription. For those who have taken the plunge already, you will get a coupon. I could be wrong... see you in October/November

  • Re: Faithlife! Is Logos Now Really going to be discontinued?
In some ways this shouldn't have been a complete surprise. Logos Now has been languishing since L7 rolled out, and they do seem to have been pushing feature sets harder than one would think advisable under a viable subscription model. Most likely Now simply wasn't generating enough revenue; I can't think of any other justifiable reason

  • Re: Faithlife Connect - I'm out!

Well... I'll study it more this weekend, but it seems my cost to maintain my current Logos Now resources is more than double under Faithlife Connect Essentials. Yikes! The challenge is that this is a shift from a early software release program to pushing users into the whole Faithlife ecosystem. This extra stuff is not bad, but I just don't have time

  • Re: 7.11 patch in the works?

The struggle over selective downloading dates back to Logos 4. Aside from the current issue that sometimes you want to get resources without downloading a program update because there is a known problem, there are times when huge updates are being rolled out and the 10MB resource you just bought is backed up somewhere in the queue. No problem here in
Mainly a super sale on NICOT/NT - Hint, hint...$599 for the entire set as the Publisher has done with WS, Olive Tree and Accordance
This would be quite a sale, at least by Logos' standards as the original pre-pub price for the entire set in 2009 was $999.95 and since then there have been additional volumes added. Not sure why
Please permit Preferred Resource Sections, so one can easily tell what resources they have "preferred" for each section, and can also tell when they have no resources preferred for a particular resource type (IE: Dictionaries). Perhaps each section can be outlined (like below), with a flyover label of the preferred resource

  • A Shameless Plug - Commentary on the New Testament from the Talmud and Midrash

Yes, a shameless plug... but I stand behind Dr. Wayne Grudem... I was delighted to see Dr. Grudem featured on Faithlife Today promoting the Strack and Billerbeck Commentary on the New Testament from the Talmud and Midrash . This pre-pub has been around for ages... I placed my pre-order on June 17, 2013 and so it's time... it's over time... Interested
Personally, I always felt the need to buy a package when there was a version change, i.e. Logos 6 to Logos 7, just to get all the new features. • Re: Bob Pritchett

In fairness, I know part of the challenges are to do with licensing and that has changed even in the last few years. I seem to recall BAR went their own way to no fault of Logos and I think The Masters Seminary Journey did as well along with a hand full of others. Logos can't be held responsible for that and we as users need to direct our feedback to
