Thanks John! That seems to be working. It has crashed once while it was scanning for the copied resources/updating resources action. Otherwise it seems to be setting up fine. This was following Nick's instructions into the wine-logos8 directory

Long story - short... I screwed up the Logos install while messing around with updating Wine to 5.0 RC2. I have all my data backed up - so that is a bonus. However wasta-logos-setup will not work - coming up with errors about the directory not being found. I also did full autoremove of wine and wasta, rebooted then tried from the start. I'm running

I was just reading the Release Notes for the latest Wine 5.0 - it appears that the crash of Logos when set to Win 8/10 has been fixed. Could this allow the errors with audio and printing to be fixed by running under Win 10?
Are you guys mainly buying print (new or used?) or Kindle editions?
For me it depends on price... I will usually go with the cheapest price, whether paper, ebook or even audio. Not sure these are the 5 most recent but very good anyway: 1 - The Forgotten Trinity - James White (Audible) 2 - Systematic Theology

Yeah Nick, I made sure it was set to XP for the Indexing. It doesn't seem to be like what we were dealing with at first. All search and library functions seem to reflect a fully successful index - yet it wants to keep indexing. I do think I found my problem. When I go through winecfg - it is showing winxp. When I just accessed winecfg through winetricks

Latest version has been running quite well on Kubuntu 19.10. The past two days, I have run into a strange issue. The indexer seems to want to continually run and winds up crashing after a while. All searches act as though the indexes are fine, but unlike the original index issues with getting up to a certain percent and never being reported as finished

John, I dropped it from my launcher and so far so good! Opens to the correct layout instead of a blank layout. Haven't noticed anything out of place. Having the layout load fixes one of the two things I was missing from Windows. Now if we could only get the Print function to recognize the printer and print. Thankful for all of you who have puzzled this

Benjamin, you can also navigate to the directory that Taylor referenced. Rename the files located there to .bak and then try to run Logos. If it Logos reloads correctly it should rebuild the library files. I had to manipulate a few of the directories like this during the download of my library. It is an old trick learned from Beta testing days This

How would this impact a user who has already installed Logos? I remember seeing something about updates potentially breaking the install. Would this mean if the install is ever broken, that we would have to redo everything including downloading our entire libraries again? Or is there a way to just update the wine install with this package to prevent

Anyone else have ClamAV flag just about the entire Logos wine install as malware? Just ran a scan and had over 300 malware hits in the Logos directory

I may have found the cause of the error.... Having been through a couple Beta cycles in the past, I remembered similar behaviors when the old Libronix engine was left behind and all the indexing began. One of the issues that would cause this typs of behavior was corrupt databases. I tried deleting everything out of the folding that holds the index files

So... I went through the whole process again... The first download and install of the minimal resources went fine and indexed quite well. The indexing finished in comparable time to Windows. The second download of a little over 1 gig off resources did the same. A third download the program started downloading 15 gigs and it reached about 50% and crashed

    0743.crash.txt
Frank, I think I've seen this bug... Can you run it from the terminal and share the output? For a workaround I think you need to choose to do a minimal install and then when it has successfully indexed the first time you can add the rest of your books. The terminal output would be really helpful. The backtrace
PS: @frank can you choose to "Show Details" of your crash and then look at the error? If you are getting something along the lines of a " System.AccessViolationException " then this is our original error and it means that your wine version isn't patched. I made a bit of an update to wasta-logos-setup that may address this problem

Yes. That's was how I did the fresh install and it was running fine. Then at some point during the overnight download that error popped up and crashes every time I start Logos. I even tried to go back and rerun the postinst.sh command you suggested on the side comments to no avail

Well - All of

Well - All of a Sudden a Serious Bug has appeared. I had it running perfectly on Kubuntu 18.04, then 19.04 via upgrade and finally 19.10 via upgrade. I wanted to try it out on a SSD. I have done a fresh install of Kubuntu 19.10, then followed the exact installation instructions and everything was running well when I went to sleep. I allowed Logos to

I believe you are indeed correct. Though the indexer stayed at zero it appeared to have finished. Just in case I ran the Rebuild Index command and the indexer moved up to 11% then stalled, but finished without going beyond 11%. I really can't comment on the efficiency versus Windows, as it would be an apples to oranges comparison. I run Windows on an

I'm getting the same .NET error when tryiing to install on a fresh Kubuntu LTS
So, I am going to give up for the moment trying to install this on my Pixelbook in Crostini. I want to see if I can install it in VM first and then learn from that. I have a Bionic VM in a Windows host. I got through all of the steps successfully
