This all seems like a lot of work to replicate what we used to have... I never remember having to use all these work arounds and change the format of my Sermons to include a table when we had the trusty Sermon File Addin
IIRC in Libronix the table was a fill in the blanks table. • Re: Planning to teach my youth group Apologetics

In teaching an Intro level Apologetics course, I prepared primarily from McDowell, Baker Encyclopedia and a couple others. For the students and the basis of the lectures I used The Unshakable Truth by Josh and Sean McDowell (not in Logos yet) - it is setup with 12 "truths" that flowed very well over a 12 week study for beginners.

  • Re: Romans 7

I don't own the NICNT so I can't comment on whether he summarizes from it or not, but Encountering the Book of Romans is a great resource! Here's a pic of one page on Romans 7 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw9u6PD-uOfSbFZ5d3FuNWE2NFU/view?usp=sharing
Would the book you suggested be a "summary" of his NICNT Romans? Bump - Bob, Phil, Bradley, any input from Faithlife on whether this is a viable option?

Maybe a move to Kickstarter for the Windows app may help it...

Could be interesting, though I'm not sure the Bible Sounds project gives us a good understanding of how it may work for books/resources/bundles. How would the project be set up for resources? It seems multiple levels really wouldn't fit ownership of a resource license.

  • Re: More user control over forum viewing

As an example, there are 49 sub-forums currently... I'd only personally have interest in a max of 12-14... It would make reading and navigating much easier and pleasurable. I'm sure other users would have more and some less, but it would sure clean up our forum experience and may encourage more involvement from more users.

  • More user control over forum viewing

I'm not sure if this has come up before, I know I've mentioned it a couple times via phone calls. FaithLife is continually adding more sub forums to the Forums world. I personally would love to have something beyond subscribe that would allow for me to only see the sub forums I'm interested in, a Favorites system or ability to block the view of certain

  • Re: Systematic Theology For Laymen

Count me as a Grudem recommendation as well. Reformed, but very fair in overall analysis. Another and much easier read, RC Sproul's Everyone is a Theologian is an excellent beginner/prep book.

  • Re: Logos for Windows Phone

I think the biggest roadblock to people showing the support needed to get this app into production is the current suggested price of $15 on the Community Pricing link that Bradley posted. There does seem to be a lot of interest and desire for a Universal/Mobile Windows app, however I don't believe many are willing to commit to $15 to get it. Especially

  • Re: I have Logos 6 Gold - why get Logos Now?

I finally started the free trial. There are a couple really nice features. Systematic Theologies and the Confessional Documents have stood out for me. Not sure I will continue with a paid subscription for what I've found so far.

  • Finally decided to try the free month...

Well, as the post title says I finally decided to try the free month. Unfortunately no new resources or datasets are available. I'm running the latest beta (4) and have done everything except uninstall and reinstall Logos (which I will not do for a free trial, I'd rather cancel and never use it.) Update now says no updates available, Update Resources
Thanks for all the replies! I have downloaded the free logos software and the free books that are offered. However, several comments mentioned that the Gold package is really needed to get the most out of Logos software. While this may change in the future, at this point I am not able to put a huge amount of money into Bible

Welcome to the Forums Rachel! First, pertaining to the hardware that you stated you currently use. With a newer hard drive, 8 gigs of RAM and an i7 processor, you should be able to run Logos efficiently. In regard to whether Logos is the right software for you and if it meets your needs, I'd recommend giving it a try and if it does not, or even if it

Is it just me or when I read Bob's post, I can't help but wonder if this wasn't foreseen considering how many emails many of us get containing more offers to upgrade and extend our payment plans. I rarely receive a special offer email any longer that is not an offer to upgrade my base package and extend a payment plan. So it didn't surprise me at all

So far, I have this resource on my tablet but it seems to not download/activate on my laptop. I have run both update now (no updates available) and update resources (the updater appears to have something then disappears without adding the resource). Restarted the laptop all to no avail. Updated a laptop I rarely use and the resource shows there without

Really appreciate this thread. Very beneficial search string, that I look forward to using consistently. A quick question for our search string experts: How would the search string command be generated to limit the command to a certain type, example: a command to pray, worship or submit (search for every command to pray in the NT)

  • Re: Systematic Theology recommendations?

Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology is excellent IMHO! He is very much Reformed but does a tremendous job in presented a fair view across the board.
