• Re: Thoughts about "Opening Up . . ." and "Baker New Testament Commentary"

Gold would be a good upgrade, giving you a lot more resources suited for your purpose at a great value. Buying titles individually that are included in base packages costs much more. With that in mind, you might narrow your additional individual title purchase options to those that are not included in a base package. (Tyndale, for example)

Although it's not available individually, the NIVAC on Hebrews by Guthrie is outstanding. The introduction to the book is worth the price of the volume. It is a narration that the author does (in Biblical costume) before he begins teaching his class on Hebrews. It gives you the mindset of the intended audience for the book. It is incredibly moving.

Are you aware that the Baker set is available in the Platinum Base Package? If you could swing the cost to upgrade to Platinum you'd be getting substantially more than just the Baker set
I appreciate the suggestion. However, that upgrade would cost me almost $600. Right now, I have Scholar's Silver

  • Re: Package above Portfolio LE

I noticed that Platinum is now the top-selling base package. I think the next addition should be something in between the Platinum and Portfolio that is not such a huge jump. A lot of us who made the jump from Gold to Platinum will never make the jump to Portfolio, but are still itching for more resources.

The ability to upgrade base pkgs is one of the nice features of Logos. I started 2 yrs ago with the Bible Study pkg. Since then, I've upgraded to Scholar's Gold and then to Platinum.

One way of dealing with the original question is to think of entering a Christian bookstore. On the shelves are a wide range of materials from a wide range of perspectives to fit a customer base with a wide range of perspectives. Just because those titles are on the shelves, it does not mean that the owner of the business personally agrees with all
Many years ago I have been helped very much by the book of Josh McDowell, Resurrection Factor. Also very good book (and much more recent) is Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ. Would be great to have more of those books (Strobel, McDowell) in Logos.
Several McDowell titles are available in Logos format from Nelson

  • Re: Will newly manufactured books get added into collections?

As I understand it, Logos did custom upgrade pricing with Logos 4. It factored in the titles that I had purchased separately that were included in the upgrade price. It was not a dollar for dollar credit (as I understand), but you weren't buying the same title twice. Others are right. It will probably be a few years before Logos 5. If you can use the
