  • Re: What Greek font do you use?

I switch back and forth between KadmosU and the new SBL font. The strokes are little heavier and more vertical on the KadmosU but the lighter stroke and slight rightward slant to the SBL font seem to give more white-space and seem a little more soothing to me when the eyes are tired. It's a completely different story when I type. I use Gentium then

[quote user="Dennis Miller"] ... If and when I decide to upgrade, from looking at the choices I'd rather just be able to upgrade to the new engine and datasets with the library I've already built. I am not really interested in the resources on preaching, counseling, etc. Language and textual study is what interests me as well as ancient and historical

  • Another Suggestion

To the best that I can tell, the IOS Logos app and the Vyrso app store their books in two different places on the iPad when you've selected the Airplane mode option for them. It would be good if we had the option of sharing that space between the two apps so that if a book is in airplane mode in one app the other app can share it. But then I'm still

  • Re: Question for Rosie or others familiar with Mennonite practices

I am an active member of a Mennonite church in the US. In the main denomination this is a fairly recent phenomena. There are a number of different church polities and governance models in the different conferences that make up the main denominations. Generally those to the West tend to be more congregationally based and individual congregations may

I use the smart cover with the ipad2 and I fold it into a triangle tube on the left hand side and that works pretty well as a comfortable grip while I am reading (portrait orientation).

  • Re: NEW ENGLISH BIBLE REQUEST!

I too would love to have the NEB in my Logos library ( ), mostly though to make it easier to cut and paste into sermons. I would still prefer sitting in an easy chair with the hard-copy version. That seems a more appropriate way of reading It since it has long been my favorite English reading translation. I think it rivals and in many cases improves

I don't think these are in translation either. I picked up both volumes at an estate sale about 20 years ago. It would be a great addition to my digital library.

  • Re: Revised English Bible

I would also love to have this and the NEB in Logos. I use the REB as my primary reading Bible. It is a revision of the New English Bible. I find the English of these two the most pleasant reading/sounding of any since the KJV. The REB uses a more inclusive language and did away with some of the more questionable translations found in the NEB. And a

  • Re: Logos 3 and/or 4 on Linux

I have been running both Logos 4 and 3 in Virtualbox Virtual machines - Logos 3 for about 2.5 years and 4 since release last fall. The host is Ubuntu 9.10 and the guests are XP Pro SP-3. I set them up in separate VM's. I have 6gb of memory total and allocated 3gb to the L4 and allocated 1.5 gb to the L3 VM. L4 uses lots of disk so allocate at least

  • Re: How long does it take for Logos4 to load fully into homepage at startup?

My situation is probably unlike most users. I run L4 in a VirtualBox virtual machine under Ubuntu linux running an instance of XPsp3. I've allocated about 3.5 gB of memory to the L4 vm. so I start and restart the vm rather than leaving it up all the time. What I have noticed is that L4 loads very slowly after an instantiation of the VM (equivalent to

Just a note on SQLITE is a software library that provides a serverless relational db implementation. It was designed to be embedded in systems unlike the server based implementations your are talking about. It also completely in the public domain so there are no license issues involved. Finally is is more conformant to SQL standards than mysql. It is

  • Re: Linux version of Logos Bible Software

I have had Logos4 running on a Virtualbox VM (guest XP - 32bit) hosted on a Ubuntu 9.04 machine for about 10 days now. I gave the machine a 3.2 gb of memory out of a total 6gb available on an older Intel quad-core and I haven't noticed much difference in responsiveness over a native boot of XP. It could be that running on a 64-bit os might make a difference

  • Re: Multiple Lexicons on Click

I don't think LSJ is indexed by lemma in LE4 so the linking as suggested does not work. The only index listed is by page. It does appear to be searchable by lemma though. I commented about this in another thread a week ago and have yet to see any response.

  • Re: Liddell & Scott missing index on lemma?

Thanks and indeed Liddell & Scott (LSJ) does NOT have the headword indexed. BDAG does. So I think that answers my original question. So Logos Team is this scheduled to come in a later release or do I need to report it as a bug?

  • Liddell & Scott missing index on lemma?

Is it the case that the Liddell & Scott Greek English Lexicon (full not middle liddell) is missing the index on the lemma in L4 or have I set it up wrong? I can't link it to the BDAG or the Lexham Analytical Lexicon, which do link together fine. The only index I seem to have on it is the page number. Thanks Much!

No. I started with 1.0 updated to 1.1.1 then to 1.2. Uninstalling comletely and installing 1.2 works fine. Thanks much.
