So, I need your help with a squirrely brain.
I too find too many opinions ... comments on a passage can be overwhelming. consider the old illustration: Even a blind squirrel will eventually find an acorn if you tie him out under an oak tree. If, however, said squirrel is searching for truth, it would be beneficial to tie

I have similar toys in my toy box. Both perform admirably. The DVP11 7130 has the advantage of greater screen real estate, slightly faster processor ( i5 4300y), 128 GB internal drive ....a boon for larger Logos libraries Whereas the DVP8 5855 is super portable ... fits in a cargo pants pocket. but is limited to 64 GB drive and a slightly slower processor
Dell has apparently stopped making/selling the DV8 Pro. It's no longer on their site. I'll take good care of mine!
I didn't know that. I agree ! I think I will start using the 11 when portability isn't a must. I can't imagine not having my pocket rocket.

Guess i'm blessed to have a smaller library, Just a shame they don't offer it with 128 GB. The venue 11 does... but it is not pocketable. I have one with an e5 processor. Honestly , I can see little performance difference in the 2 machines

Try going to settings, then in the find settings box type "reset". This should give you options to refresh ( keep files) or reset (clean install). Using this tool should restart the tablet and hopefully boot to the USB drive.
I'll probably need to delete the recovery partition
Try everything you can to get Logos on the main drive. I feel confident you will enjoy the machine. Please update us after you use it a bit.

Just for the record, the Dell Venue 8 pro 5855 we've been discussing is a Windows 10 based unit. It accepts the full desktop version of logos/Verbum. You can store your complete library on the internal drive and have all the bells and whistles you enjoy on your PC, including working offline.
Are you able to scroll through windows in Logos using your fingers?
Yes . No issues with scrolling. I think that's what I was referring to as stuttering with the older Venue. however, It seems to work better for me to set the columns to '1". Then the arrows at the bottom act as page up or page down. There is limited

Hi, Bill; Yes, It's the 5855. It fills my "pocket portable" needs flawlessly. The Logos experience is improved on this unit. However, i must say the older one did a respectable job. Speed was not an issue. It would sometimes "stutter" just for a mili-second. This unit is much smoother/fluid. Undoubtedly due to double ram and faster processor. There
