• Re: Early Church Fathers vs Ancient Christian Commentary
I would suggest that you consider The Church's Bible as a resource that has learned from the weaknesses of the ground-breaking Ancient Christian Commentary for selections based on Biblical books. I would suggest the five series of Popular Patristics as the place to start for full works on doctrines ... these are chosen to be

  • Re: What happened to the gold?
Yours is the greatest argu for later arrival of the wisemen. The sacrifice presented in the temple was of the poor two doves not the lamb of someone who could afford it with the gifts of the magi. As you say pure speculation. But Luke gives the impression that there was poverty for at least the first few months. -dan [/quote

  • Re: What happened to the gold?

I'm part of the group that think the wise men appeared around the time of Jesus birth. So I would say that in addition to paying for their time in Egypt, the gold would have also paid for the sacrifice required for Mary's purification after the 40 day period was over. As others have said this is all speculation, especially since we do not know what
For Future Reference, temporary resources will initially be shown as permanent (reason unknown), however, after a short period of time, they will change to temporary.
+1 This is correct. I believe (but may be wrong) that the change from Perm -> Temp happens once indexing is complete. Perhaps someone from FL
Oh, just a final addendum - I think I've been excruciatingly clear on this, but just in case, my name-checking you was never meant to suggest that I thought there was anything wrong with you beta testing or being rewarded for your work! I'm thoroughly happy for you and for all the work that everyone put into Logos 8. I loved
It was only when Liam mentioned it that it occurred to me that there are people with that access that I would never have guessed. I’d have liked some indicator for that. It doesn’t need to give any specific info on what they’ve done - just some indicator that they’re in a different subset to normal

  • Re: Conflict of Interest?

Hmmm... interesting. Out genuine interest, where would you draw the line? For example, should I state in my signature that I received a financial gift from Faithlife for Beta Testing and making contributions (Canvas documents) to Logos 8? As I say, that is a genuine question. :-)
Or Glory, Grace, Christ, Scripture and Faith...logically, it makes more sense. The Glorious God showed Grace by sending His Christ (Son) and gave us Scripture so we can learn about Him and have Faith.
