• Re: Is salvation by "allegiance alone," or faith? Interview with Matthew Bates on the Academic Blog!
We instinctively know that loving our spouse is a multifaceted commitment, as is honoring our parents. Why should the possibility that "faith" in God might represent a similarly multi-faceted commitment seem surprising to so many?
I think you've hit the nail on the head here EastTN! I think part of the disagreement (IMHO

This looks a lot like https://atom.io/ which seems to be able to do all the same functions and with the 'atom Materials' theme, and some of addons (also free) would look as pretty. I used it for a while for sermons before I switched to writing them in Logos. It used to run it on a folder set up in and then use an addon to sync my settings across machines

  • No verse art biblia mobile (ios)?

Hi all, I posted this in the Biblia.com section of the forum but haven't had much traction, could anyone here help me out? https://community.logos.com/forums/t/143240.aspx Thanks, Liam

  • No verse art on mobile browser?

I regularly send my wife a 'verse of the day' using the 'share' feature on the Logos Bible App (ios) which adds a link to the verse on Biblia.com. One of the reasons I use a biblia link is that it often previews the link in her messages app with the related verse art from Biblia which she loves. However, she recently commented that as much as she likes

  • Re: Visual Filter Based on Proverbs Explorer?

Hi All, After much hard-slogging, I thought I would share the fruits of my labours: Wisdom Theme Visual Filter & Highlighting Palate for Proverbs, based on Logos Preaching Themes Dataset. The filter adds a left or right margin highlight based on the various criteria. I purposely chose the margins because I am in love with the Logos Morphology visual

Great question Denise, I would argue that the early church saw the OT as providing their ethical norms. I don't have refs to hand (I'm about to put my three year old to bed) but a quick glass of the 'New Testament use of the Old Testament Interactive' pointed at James (arguably the earliest NT letter) will find 53 quotes and allusions to the Old Testament

Hi Graham, Thanks for your speedy reply. However, I was thinking about the 'Proverbs Explorer Interactive'. Sorry, should have been clearer.

Thanks for everyone's helpful replies so far. I am starting to get somewhere with this now. Out of interest, is there away to focus the proverbs explorer on a specific range? Eg. Proverbs or Job @Francis: I like you method too, and is certainly in the mix.

  • Re: Move notes to a different Bible resource.

I don't know if you can. I'm a prolific highlighter/note taker on logos and as far as I am aware you would need to manually edit every note. Which is likely note what you want to hear... Moving forward you may wish to attach your notes the bible reference itself (eg. John 1:1), rather than the resource reference (e.g. John 1:1 (ESV)). That way your

  • Re: Tip: switching easily between commentaries of the same series

Thanks Mark, that is really helpful advice. Personally, I tend to be a commentary magpie, cherry-picking the single best commentary on a book, rather than purchasing whole series. This is mainly due to fiscal constraints more than anything else. Finally, discovering that I can jump between them now is going to make using them even easier. For this I
You can create your own too. e.g. your favorite NT Greek bible with your favorite OT Hebrew Bible.
Really o.O? Pray tell? I've been wanting to do this for ages! Thanks, Liam

I realise that it is a bit idiosyncratic to post the titles that I purchased. That said, that said since eligibility was based on RRP and not discount price, I used mine to maximise the discount on some resources that I needed, but were also on sale or eligible for my academic discount. So purchased:

  • Kindle update?

HI FL, I was wondering when I can expect a Kindle Fire update for Logos which will fix some of the mobile issues people have been experiencing lately? (eg. bible verses appearing outside of boxes in sermon docs, books not filling the whole screen in landscape mode, etc.) Thanks, Liam

I'm very grateful for the voucher, thank you Logos. I was able to pick up the PNTC on 2 Corinthians, a Luther reader, and an Anabaptist reader for a total of £31! The PNTC was about £38 on its own. Thanks again, Liam

Jim, all Vyrso books can be accessed on Logos but not vice versa. That said, Vyrso books are essentially epubs (or similar) prepared by the publisher are of varying quality compared to Logos books which are prepared by Faithlife. I occasionally purchased vyrso books that don't even have a working contents page!!! That's said the majority have been fine

  • Re: What is your primary English translation?

For reading, studying, preaching, etc. I use the NIV2011. Sure it isn't perfect but I believe it does a good job of balancing accuracy and meaning. This balance is primary for me in a bible translation. In the Text Comparison tool I use the following in this order (reflecting the translation spectrum). 1. ESV 2. CSB 3. NIV2011 4. NCV 5. NLT A note for

I have Now and Student Discount. yes it does stack on base libraries. I get a green box notification telling me so when I view base packages. Now subscribers can get a further discount on base packages since you do not need to purchase feature sets (they come as standard with Logos Now - or rent them - depending on how you look at it.) I hope that helps

I have his book 'Redeeming Anger' which is off the charts - hence my gravitation towards this collection. Thanks for your thoughts... Really helpful.
