• Need help with Hebrew search results

I recently preformed a search on bara in the LHI and got "45 results in 38 verses”. Since I have another bible application, the name I won't mention, I did the same search and got "46 verses, 27 forms and 54 hits" -- the text was the Codex Leningradensis Hebrew Text. Further searches in L4 yielded the following results: AFTA -- "45 results in 38 verses

  • Re: Dear Logos, can you fix the copy bible verse?
It does and very clearly too. I was originally posting in responds to tetelestai who said "This is clearly a broken piece of code", when in fact it may be working as designed. I think a suggestion might be more appropriate than a bug report. That is all.
Actually, it is broken. As you pointed out earlier, only the
What would be the expected value of [ChapterNum] if the reference covered more than one chapter? or [FullBookName] if the reference covered a book boundary? (i.e. if you had "[FullBookName] [ChapterNum]" in the header, what would you expect it to output if the entered passage was Isaiah 8:22–9:1 or 1 Ki 22:51 – 2 Ki 1:2
[FullBookName], [ShortBookName], [ChapterNum], [VerseNum], [FullVerseRef], [ShortVerseRef] and [VerseText] don't work in the =Header section, but they all work correctly in the =ForEachVerse section. I bet they were made available so that you could format the verse-by-verse references however you want. How were you going
Confirmed on 4.0b Beta 11, also.
CBV seems to be an issue a lot of us are anxiously awaiting... the real test will be does it do minimally what L3 is capable of doing. I'd love more capability but the benchmark has got to be at least L3's functionality. 4.0b shouldn't "leave home without it...."
4.0b is close, Logos has not given any timetables though.
Thanks Kevin! I hope they've addressed all problems with the CBV function... been waiting expectantly for that remedy.

  • New download???

I just received a new download: 825.7MB. Anybody know what was included in it? I was hoping for 4.0b but it's not. Also, any idea when 4.0b will be available?

  • Index stopped working

I rebooted my system earlier, unrelated to L4, and when the system came up again I got a message indicating that L4 was indexing. I thought that was a little strange because I didn't think L4 would index without the application running. So I started L4 and the system continued to index until I got a windows' message that the indexer had stopped. The
Disclaimer: not a Greek scholar, just a seminary grad.
I pretty much agree with you. The USB4 is redundant and while there are some differences I'm not trying to be that detailed. And, no disclaimer is necessary, I'm no scholar either... the more I study greek the more "unscholarly" I feel!

  • Calling Greek Scholars

I'm using a text comparison tab for identifying differences in the greek text when I look at certain scriptures: I use the NA27 because it's the version I use predominately now; Stephens' because I grew up on the KJV and it's the base text for that version; the BYZ because it represents the majority of greek texts and the UBS4 because it's the critical

I was about to submit a new post until I ran across this post. I too, noticed a "New resources appear in this section..." message after a search operation. Why does this occur? I was under the impression that the automatic indexing which follows downloads accomplished merging. Am I missing something? Is the "merge index" function different from the
If you are switching to Windows 7, you should know that there are a couple of processes that do not always terminate when you close Logos 3. If you do not use Task Manager to ensure that these processes have closed (it is irregular... sometimes both will close, sometimes one will, others neither), it can interfere with the update

  • How do I? What would you recommend?

My office system crashed on me last week so I've purchased a new computer: HP Quad-core, 64-bit, 1TB HDD, 8G RAM. So now, on to the reinstall of all my bible software... My plan is to reinstall L3 first, run all the update scripts synch my license and then download L4 and reinstall it. That's the general plan. To those of you who have done this before
Chuck, Go to the Logos home page and then click on "my account" then click the "my orders" tab. There should be a listing of all your previous orders. L4 should be listed there. If so, click on the "unlock
