I think the key is how your are using the knowledge. To quote one of my blog entries ( https://medium.com/@josiah12345/knowing-god-ee83b4c4f4ac ): As exciting as that sounds, we should be careful to avoid the temptation of Gnosticism. Our goal is not to pursue secret knowledge, to guard and treasure a right path to enlightenment. Instead, we should

https://www.logos.com/product/136784/lexham-analytical-lexicon-of-the-hebrew-bible If your text book is in Logos and you have that prioritized, double-clicking should do the trick. Copy-paste may or may not work depending on various locale elements, but you can always search in hebrew by prefixing "h:" in your search.

  • Re: Request for recommendation: Technical and critical NT introduction
Here's the NT intro they are using at the seminary I went to right now. My seminary was on the liberal side so usually the resources they use are fairly critical. I didn't use this one when I was there so I can't vouch for it myself. It's not in Logos, but it is on Kindle, and much cheaper than the previous one I recommended. An

  • Re: Request for recommendation: Technical and critical NT introduction

Introductions can only get so technical and academic. If you want technical and academic you should go to journals and monographs, or commentaries like Anchor Yale (some volumes aren't even written by confessing Christians and it is not a requirement) or WBC (which is more confessional but has the best textual notes, especially OT, more thorough than
I find the Faithlife forums very helpful and I am grateful for those who contribute. If there are some who do receive some kind of discount or free materials... I am completely good with that.
This is precisely how I feel. The only thing I've ever received from Faithlife is they sent me some notebook/journal with their branding

Thanks everyone who replied. Just to follow up, I decided to go with Liberty University for the MDiv, though I was also quite interested in Gordon-Conwell's Cohort option (it just so happened that I had trouble getting any communication with them, probably because of Thanksgiving, but Liberty was very responsive). Depending on how many equivalency tests

  • Hiding Less Resources

I'm trying to hide less resources, but some resources seem to clutter no matter what I do. Does anyone have any good solutions for these types of resources, or should they be feature enhancement requests? -- 1) Media Collections. Unlike other sections, the Passage Guide "Media Resources" has no "Settings" via which you can specify a subset of resources

  • Re: Search Encyclopedia entry NAMES but not entry body text?

Thank you for your reply. Sorry if I came off too critical, I really do love using Logos, and as stated, my desire would be to use the Factbook over Heading Text, I just don't want it to miss key resources in my library. I understand it's a gradual process to tag new resources, and I'm very happy to hear you are still actively doing so, and that the

By the way, I figured out the other half of my question. Instead of Search All Text, Search Heading Text.

So this works, but the thought of tagging every entry in these dictionaries that aren't available in the Factbook is hardly exciting...

Found the issue. You do not see that option in the context menu unless you have community tags enabled in the visual filters. Wacky! https://community.logos.com/forums/p/92633/784233.aspx#784233

Thanks, I don't see how to add a community tag though. I think it's supposed to be an option in the right-click context menu, but I don't see it.

  • Search Encyclopedia entry NAMES but not entry body text?

So a few parts to this inquiry. I like the way the Factbook works, but I also hate missing good resources in my library. For example, "Peter Abelard" Dictionaries section gives me good hits in The Dictionary of Historical Theology or the New Dictionary of Theology: Historical and Systematic but it doesn't list the very colorful entry in The Westminster

Also is this the case with all the LCV resources, or should I make sure they are unhidden?

Is 131 Christians Everyone Should Know the only resource quotes are pulled from? It seems like I can hide this resource and still see quotes, so it seems pre-compiled rather than dynamic by library, right?

Thanks everyone! I have found a wealth of options for M Div, and may go that route, however, because of my illnesses, I'm not sure Biblical Studies PhD isn't the better choice. So far I've only found two options there: http://www.amridgeuniversity.edu/academics/turnerschool/phdbiblcalstudies/#1482987821981-b8cfecbb-39d6 https://www.faulkner.edu/graduate

  • Seminary Programs while working?

Today I was hearing from someone about seminary programs designed so you only have to be physically present for a small amount of time and complete the rest remotely. So for example a working person could use vacation for the on-location parts and do the bulk remotely. I plan to follow up with the person I was talking with as well, but I thought I might

  • Re: No NEW Journals - why not?

I have 4.1 master on pre-pub but haven't posted in this thread yet. I think having current academic journals in Logos is absolutely critical to its viability as a serious research tool, especially for anyone who doesn't have access to them via their work.
