  • Re: Drugs and the ek-static

Well there was that DSS scholar that kind of went off the deep end: The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross: A Study of the Nature and Origins of Christianity Within the Fertility Cults of the Ancient Near East (1970) But I can't actually recommend that...nor the pop versions like Graham Hancock's Supernatural: Meetings with the Ancient Teachers of Mankind

in Logos or in general? Mircea Eliade's Shamanism seems like the obvious starting place. A more recent recommendation would be William Richards' Sacred Knowledge: Psychedelics and Religious Experiences. He has a Divinity Masters and Psychology PhD and has done a lot of research of the topic.

  • Report Typo - No confirmation email

I used to receive a confirmation email when I reported a typo. For some time I do not. At first I thought nothing of it -- oh maybe they are reducing unnecessary email load -- but today it occurred to me "I hope it's not broken". Just to make sure: typo reports are still being received?

  • Re: Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database - each scroll shows up in parallel resources for ANY Bible Verse?

Yes, Text Comparison is a great tool. I have quite a few user-defined sets there that I use. You are right, maybe we don't use Parallel Resources so much anymore. It's nice to arrow key through resources, but maybe I should just go straight to Text Comparison instead. I guess it's a workflow thing. I used to have a lot of my library hidden to remove

  • Re: Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database - each scroll shows up in parallel resources for ANY Bible Verse?

After rebuilding my library, it appears the issue is ALL Qumram scrolls are considered parallel to each other. However, if I am at a reference in an English Translation, NIV for example, only the scrolls which contain that verse show up in parallel resources. So the clutter occurs when I'm in one of the scrolls, wanting to go back to a translation or

  • Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database - each scroll shows up in parallel resources for ANY Bible Verse?

https://www.logos.com/product/5961/qumran-biblical-dead-sea-scrolls-database Qumran Scrolls with Morphology. Awesome. Couldn't be happier. But this totally clutters up Parallel Resources. I see each scroll appear, whether or not that scroll contains the given Bible Reference I am on. Is there any way to fix this? Is this a known issue? I'm contemplating

Thanks, I feel so silly. I purchased multiple packages and the link was only on the first. I was looking at the wrong receipt.

  • Mobile Ed Course (You Choose) *

Have these instructions been sent out yet to redeem these or do people know when about we can expect them? I received receipts after purchasing Logos 8 packages, but nothing further.

Where does the 25% number come from? I bought two Logos 8 packages off the website but the discounts were kind of random because of dynamic pricing and being a connect member. Should I be worried and call Sales? Is there a problem with buying via the website?

[quote user="Sean Boisen"] [quote user="Josiah"] Important Passages is awesome (Cross References with New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge used to be my first step after reading a passage, now it has been eclipsed). Important Words / Lemma in Passage are also great. If the plan is for all new commentaries to be tagged and supported here, that's incredible

[quote user="Reuben Helmuth"] Awesome to hear that you like so many things about L8! Curious why you’d consider workflows a miss? I consider them to be the most valu addition of all, but of course that because I have a very specific need/purpose for them. They just don't add anything that I wasn't doing already. I already had a custom passage guide that worked very well for my Bible Study workflow. And I already use the Logos tools I find useful without needing a checklist to walk me through them each time. I'm very self motivated. So having an impersonal automatic inductive Bible Study generator to

[quote user="Michael S."] I guess I was really seeking a library evaluation- which would be a great thing to have available... have some experienced and various levels of expertise evaluate one's library to see where the strengths and weaknesses are. Is just clicking the Learn more about it link on each resource really the most efficient way? Would be nice to export collections or bibliographies into hyperlinked lists for recommendations to people. https://www.logos.com/resources/LLS_ANCTXTNTSTUDGUID/ancient-texts-for-new-testament-studies-a-guide-to-the-background-literature https://www.logos.com

I can't figure out how to get hyperlinks out of Logs. But I exported this bibliography with a few of my recommendations: Evans, C. A. (2011). Ancient Texts for New Testament Studies: A Guide to the Background Literature. Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Academic. Green, J. B., & McDonald, L. M. (Eds.). (2013).
