  • Re: Recommended/Ideal Mac Hardware

Judging from the hardware discussion on the Pc version, and as both a MAc and PC user who rabidly follows Apple hardware news, I would say yes, the Mac upgrade would be worth it. (Even the i5 27 is 2x as fast as your C2D in some ways.) Macbook C2D 1.83, 2Gb, 120 Dell P4 2.4, 1.2 Gb, 120

  • Re: Clippings have SO MUCH promise....

I think the Clippings feature has great potential. I'm just not sure it works the way I think/hope it does. I've been looking for something that allows me to take notes on books. Ideally, the default would be to view the notes taken on each book, but each quote would also have a tag. That way, I could pull up all my quotes about "monotheism" or "covenant

  • Re: Background Color

I'd love to be able to throw Papyrus behind my Hebrew, and/or set my Hebrew font for Qumran texts to an archaic Hebrew font :)

  • Lobbying Oxford?

So Oxford Press has some nice stuff that I'd like to see added to Logos, besides updating the Oxford Commentary so it will work in my Mac. http://Oxfordbiblicalstudies.com Who's the right person to email at Oxford if I want to see the Jewish Study Bible and Oxford Companion to the Bible added, and the Oxford Commentary updated? • Missing search terms?

I'm used to doing search like , but neither the "in" nor the "near" search terms work in L4.

I downloaded the new version this morning. Opened it up, and it had synced with my PC layout! (Well, minus the Oxford commentary, which isn't available in an updated form.

  • Re: System Requirements: Minimum vs. Recommended

My desktop is 6+ years older. Pentium 4 2.4, 1.2 Gb RAM, 40+80 Gb drives. L4 is slow, but functional. (I also have a 3 -yr old Macbook.) The best things you could do are add RAM ( use crucial.com) and a cheap SSD ($85 !!), like this as a boot drive. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1111/1/ Your computer needs to be new enough that the Hard drive

  • Updater issue

My Mac install installed and indexed just fine. I used it, it was functional (well, Alpha functional.) About 24 hours ago, I got the notice, "updates are ready to be installed, click here." Upon doing so, it says "extracting update" and then almost immediately "update error; An error occurred. Please try again later." Well, I've been trying at all hours

  • Re: New collections explained & Syntax examples

Is there a way to tag more than one book at a time? Or drag more than one book at a time into the "minus these resources" area? Is there also a way to see all the things applied to a book? I'd like to create more rules, but I can't exclude the Meltho Fonts User Guide or Old Testament Wisdom: an Introduction unless I know what categories exist and what

After a download and quick re-indexing, I also have help files available :) Unfortunately, they don't fully answer my question. I think the Clippings feature has great potential. Indexing and downloading is finished. That column comes up on the right side, it just stays empty all the time.

  • Help files?

I've been looking for the help files. I can open the help column (via F1 or the question mark in the upper right), but regardless of what I type in (clippings, highlight, collection, lots of other things), nothing ever comes up. I press enter, I click on the blue arrow, nada. Am I missing something?

  • Resource Directory location?

I had my Logos 3 resources under a different drive letter than the program files. My installation of Logos4 thus has none of my books in its library. 1) I didn't find a program setting asking where to locate books. Is there one? 2) If not, what folder should I copy all my books to? Data? Users? Somewhere else? Thanks

I downloaded and installed the Alpha, successfully logged in, and then it says "waiting for the indexer" and shuts down... Not sure what to do now.

  • No package upgrade?

So, I own a lot of resources, but no packages. How do I upgrade the engine to the 4.0 version? Does 4.0 require upgraded book files? (I haven't made it through the video yet. It keeps stopping, though it's downloaded almost completely.)
