I wonder how persons having an old pre L8 version keep it working and are able to download resources without having the program cease working. Peace and grace.
Thread => Logos 7.13 Works, later Logos 7 does not; where can I download 7.13 ? started on 22 Jul 2019 resulted in Logos Wiki page => Logos Downloads
What is "Verbum 8.8" and how does it differ from "Logos"?
Verbum is Latin for Word (while Logos is Greek for Word). Verbum includes Deuterocanonical passages in Bible search while Logos excludes them (apocrypha heritage from Martin Luther). Verbum includes three built in collections: Catechism, Church Documents
Is there no way that I can have Logos 7 and Catalina?
Welcome No because unsupported Logos 7 lacks compatibility fixes for macOS 10.15 Catalina. Logos 8.8 and Verbum 8.8 are the initial desktop releases that work on macOS 10.15 Catalina. Personally liking revamped context menu (right click) in Logos 8.8 & Verbum
But how will Hamilton know/trust that it is "safe" to actually allow a software update? Your caveat above only illustrates that features could be missed, and also bug fixes!
One option for "safe" software update is forum discussion asking about desktop release (8.11+) and operating system experience. One cause for updating library catalog message is collection cache refresh. For beta testing, have diagnostic logging enabled => Diagnostic Logging for Mac so Logos.log file has entries for each collection rule that takes a longish time. Thankful for Collection rules for sorting commentaries (updated for Logos 8 Base Packages) so use rules to filter
The best I can think of is to use a Basic Search on Psalms which will looks for results within a particular Psalm (not constrained to a verse as is the case with a Bible search). It's not perfect but it could give you a starting point
(salvation, save) AND righteousness can be expanded by using Bible Sense Lexicon
