  • Typographic gray for ancient text translations

Today I was reading Moran, W. L. (1992). The Amarna letters (English-language ed.). Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press. At one point the text is: Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA AR-SA [ S]ay [to … ] …, [the ruler of … ] … :1 Thus the king. First I did read "Slay" instead of "Say". Then a thought came into my mind, could the text use gray

  • Visualizing variants

Currently we can see the main text in one window/tab and the apparatus in another window/tab. I would like to have a feature that shows the text modified with the apparatus, so that I could press a button and see each variant reading (additions/deletions/different_forms) of the verse in one window, one reading after another just by pressing the button

  • Re: Ancient Records and the Structure of Genesis --- TABLET THEORY

I recently bought this book as used, and it is interesting. Someone with a positive attitude to this theory should do a proper study based on the recent results. I use a chronology based on the generations, thus Adam lived in about 2000 BC, and the Gen 1-11 is a story of the tribe of Adam. Well, with this ultralate chronology tablet theory is far more

  • Re: Biblical timeline starts with Abraham

It would be nice if the user could write there his/her own timepoints and events.

  • Re: What new features will I get in Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade

Thanks Robert and Graham! I am using Windows Vista, and I also have some of my own special setups in it. My solution was: I went back to my order summary and pressed the red button: "Download for PC". Then it installed the Logos 5 engine. Earlier I had assumed that everything goes as an automatic update, the same way as the 4.6 upgrade on top of 4.5

I bought and installed the Minimal crossgrade and the installation is all right. I can see the new books. But I don't see any new features. The version is still version 4? How can I start for example the timeline? Logos Bible Software 4.6a SR-3 (4.61.0.3378) Copyright 2000–2012 Logos Bible Software Licensed to: *******@saunalahti.fi (Minimal v.5 (IH

  • Re: Vertical interlinear for Hebrew

As I understand, the text database is separate from the text representation, thus there can be various ways to show the text. I suggested is as an additional option, and I think it is doable. But the Logos nerds know this better.

  • Re: Vertical interlinear for Hebrew

Yes, at least I feel when reading Hebrew with other text simultaneously, it is easier to read the text from top to bottom. *** Well the other thing is the Discourse markers, many of those extend over several words with a beginning and an end. Maybe they need a separate column. Or maybe each different marker needs a separate (narrow) column. Looks like

Yes, this picture is from one of the clausal visualizations. My point is that I suggested this alignment should be made an option for the Lexham Discourse Hebrew Bible Interlinear (and perhaps also in the The Parallel Aligned Hebrew-Aramaic and Greek Texts of Jewish Scripture and other interlinear texts)

Well, I finally found out how to add picture here, below you see what I mean with vertical interlinear. The text proceeds from top to bottom.

  • Vertical interlinear for Hebrew

I assume the Hebrew Discourse OT is interlinear. One problem is the text direction, left-to-right with right-to left. Vertical text arrangement, as in The Andersen–Forbes Analyzed Text of the Hebrew Bible solves the problem. I suggest the the vertical text be an option in the Hebrew discourse OT. (Same option to The parallel aligned Hebrew-Aramaic and

  • Re: Perseus Collections Excel File

Thanks Greg, this file is very useful I first tried to copy the library listing view in Logos to Excel. It did not work out, but I think Logos should implement that functionality. Then I found your list in the Web, it helps a lot! Mr. Veli Voipio, Finland
