• Re: Zondervan pre-pub discounts expire this weekend
I saved lots of money (over a 1000 bucks) by not taking advantage of those enormous Zondervan discounts to Pradis users
It's all an individual cost/benefit assessment anyway. The same argument can be made for people not purchasing Logos resources that they have a hard copy of. If that's what works best for them
Ah, now that I've seen the rest of your discussion with Daniel, I realize you were talking about the Pradis discount which I'm not eligible for (not having been a Pradis owner).
Dan - You probably already thought of this, but just in case: If the one-time 40% discount only applies to processed/delivered orders (here
i had set up the bundle, but wanted to change it. (wayyyyyyy down reduction). Problem is, I didn't consider Logos' long weekend. And the pre-pub ships Monday. I can't get a hold of my sales rep. I will have to cancel the one order and not get any, I guess. Ouch. One major sale and several good resources gone south. [/quote

  • Re: Logos March Madness

I would be very happy to see Logos pull out some real quality books in the $20-$40 price range from some of their bigger (and much pricier) collections, similar to what they did with the "12 Days of Logos." That "event" in December allowed me and a lot of others to pick-up some books that are a bit more unique in nature, but still have a broad appeal

Great! So much for saving up for my Zondervan pre-pub purchase. (Bob, are you certain we can't do Zondervan on a payment plan? Pleeeease!)

  • Re: Pre-Pub Payment Plan

I concur. Please seriously consider a "limited" payment plan. Since we essentially have until the end of June to order, (for those who own Pradis resources), maybe allow anyone who places their order before a certain date, maybe April 5th (the estimated ship date), the option of breaking the payment into three or better yet, four, equal payments. It
I guess, I see don't see a problem. A 40% discount seems fair to me. I will not be using it as I can not afford to update at this point. I will continue to use my paper and Pradis copies of what I own, That does not mean the price is not fair, just that it is outside of my budget right now. Blessings, Floyd
The
Rule One: Always order the very first week a work you might be interested in is posted. It allowing me to purchase a couple of great resources that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford and that I know will increase my understanding of, application of and appreciation for God's Word in the months and years ahead, (as well as helping me help others do likewise through my life and ministry). I spoke with an IVP rep back when the first two Dictionaries of the OT appeared on Logos pre-pub to help me decide if I wanted to wait for an OT Essentials collection. He told me that IVP was currently working on a fourth OT Dictionary (Prophets) and is considering a fifth volume of the Background of the OT, similar to their NT dictionary. He said that

  • Re: Questionable Resource Types

Don't know the cause or extent of the issue, but in the Gingrich Outline Commentaries, "The Book of Genesis" does NOT show up in the list of commentaries in a passage search within Genesis, but his individual commentaries do for at least searches in the books of Joshua, Mark and John. (Didn't go through the other 62 books of the Bible.)

I'm personally hoping it's a countdown to the announcement of a new Library Builder collection for the holidays. After taking 2008 off, maybe Santa Prichett is feeling a bit more jolly this year. Ho ho ho!
curious about the overlap, if any, of Logos' "pre-pub" price for Z products and Z's offering of some undisclosed discount to current Pradis Customers. Could there be a scenario where the books are published, the pre-pub price vanishes, and THEN Z decides to offer a discount price that is higher than what the Logos prepub

It's still my belief that any decision of the cost of upgrading/converting Pradis resources to Libronix will be up to Zondervan and not Logos. There has been no indication that Logos will have even the slightest say, other than this "survey type" question by Dan which started this discussion, (and doesn't identify Logos' "power" to influence the outcome

As a "believer in business" for 25+ years, I understand that the decision is not as simple as I (and probably Dan and everyone else at Logos) would like it to be. From my vantage point, Zondervan's decision to allow their products to be licensed in Libronix format is pretty straight forward. They aren't just abandoning Pradis, they are embracing a new

My favorite commentaries in Logos for digging into Romans are Boice Expositional, The Message of Romans (BST) and College Press NIV. You might also want to visit www.bestcommentaries.com . (They were actually the subject of a Logos Blog post many months ago.) There you can see all (or most all) of the commentaries available on Romans (NT Books > Romans

Oh, look. The Lucado Lifeworks Library 2.0 that has been sitting in the Author's Libraries section with the ever familiar "coming soon" status has disappeared. Not to be found in the "Coming Soon" software section either. Did a search of the entire Thomas Nelson site. Yup! It's gone. (Oh well! Probably shouldn't be surprised.)

www.raystedman.org has Ray Stedman's entire library online for free, including his books, expository studies and individual messages (the latter in both pdf and audio). I've suggested / requested his works in Libronix format from Logos a couple of times over the last couple of years, but never heard anything. Glad to see others are interested as well

I've been weighing the option of simply accessing the magazines material online (for a subscription fee a fraction of the pre-pub price, but also without ANY graphics), but have decided to keep my pre-pub order. For a buck an issue, it's a very valuable resource to have 24/7 access to. And, face it, while the graphics are nice, it's more a matter of
