  • Re: Free books?????

THANK YOU!!!! We don't say that enough when folks help us, and I do appreciate the help available on this forum. Oh, do you know the origin of the work Wiki? It has become common and I think it means a cache of resources, but I have no idea where it started.

  • Free books?????

In a recent thread several folks mentioned a thousand free books that can be used in Logos 4. I checked out a similar thread that referred to free books that can be downloaded like the ESV support stuff. I own, Laridian, NIV and several other Bible software packages and experience has taught me that if it isn't in Logos, I rarely look at it. Laridian

  • Re: I have transferred my notes from 3 to 4 but...

Let me put in a strong pitch for creating a key for date entered, and for that matter adding an automatic date to the note. I do date my entries because as I go back and read notes it been rewarding to see what insights I had at that level of study. Not because I want to pat myself on the back for my growth, but to help me understand what someone reading

  • Spell Check.... PLEASE!!!!!

I kan't spel! I went to 12 different schools on three different continents before I started college and none of the methods taught me worked... I can't do arithmetic either but that can't be helped in Logos. There are several independent spell check services and many programs tap into spelling aides in MS Office. Is there any reason that spell check

  • Prayer list function doesn't work for me is there any help?

My prayer list is an intergal part of my daily study in Logos. I love having it on my homepage. However, it won't stay on the screen long enough to pray for all the names. I have to go to the edit function then click on the list to see what I thinik should pop up from the hompage. Am I missing something?

  • Has Logos considered the ERV Bible?

The World Translation Center has a new Bible translation that is geared toward prisoners and the homeless. I haven't read it but I've heard rave reviews from some of the inmates who have. It is heavily footnoted and I would like to be able to add it to my Logos 4 collection.

  • Why should someone buy Logos instead of QuickVerse?

My pastor and a couple of folks from my church are using Quick Verse. I've used Logos almost from the time the company started, but I've never used Quick Verse. What are some of the most important advantages Logos has over the other software? Oh, and have all the Family Christian Bookstores stopped carrying Logos or is it just my local store?

  • I have transferred my notes from 3 to 4 but...

not all of them made the trip... I think. I know that some didn't because they were on a different computer and I hadn't run my sync program before I updated my notes. Thus I have two questions. Is it possible to re-update the notes, and second, is there something like the file/open/notes/(the note file selected) that shows the notes on a single line

  • Re: Stepping through Bible Translations...

That is a very cool idea. I do want all the BIbles... I'm not sure why, I think it has to do with either "I paid for them!" or "Maybe one will translate that passage the way I want it to be, not what is says." ;-) Besides, when I show off Logos it makes me look learned... look count, right?

  • Re: Stepping through Bible Translations...

Worked GREAT! I still have more Bible to "step" through than is reasonable, but at least I can read them. Thanks

  • Stepping through Bible Translations...

One of the most useful feature of Logos is the ability to use my right or left arrow key to "step" through the translations and copies I own. However, I've never studied Greek or Hebrew, and barely passed first year Latin in high school 47 years ago. I'd like to be able to exclude the Latin, Greek, and Hebrew copies. Can I do that? I suspect it involves

Thanks, that did work... I'll have more questions later as I have time to absorb all this.

  • Gettin my Home the way I'd like it.

Okay, I can see that there are limited configuration available on the home page... but I like what I'm getting. Still there are some problems. I've used most of the Daily Devotionals I own. I think the one I like least is Morning and Evening... so that's the one that comes up on my home page. I've used the Library priority function to list my preferred
