  • Re: Why do you study the Bible....

I study the Bible because it's fun! I didn't always feel this way. I use to party a lot, play a lot of sports, play a lot of music, hung out in bars...Reading the Bible was the last thing on my mind...It was a chore and a drag...Boring!!! Then I was approached by my Church's Board to get involved with our college kids to keep them from leaving the flock

  • Re: Encyclopaedia of Judaism and Jewish Law (4 Vols.)...Trying to decide on Portfolio upgrade

As for the Jewish Law stuff, no answer. I am not a Port owner, just Plat. But I have wondered about it. . . There are several titles in portfolio that interest me and they equal about what I would be charged at the discount rate I qualify for . . . but I would also get SO MUCH MORE (would I use it?). However, few of them are really "i need it" titles

Thanks Rosie! That's the first time anyone took the time out to do an anagram of my name. I really needed that pointed out to me since my Church is going through some real ugliness right now. How can such "holy" people (self-proclaimed btw including the Pastor and Deacons) do such meanness to each other...and boldly do them in the name of God no less

  • Re: Encyclopaedia of Judaism and Jewish Law (4 Vols.)...Trying to decide on Portfolio upgrade

How many books can one actually read? These days I find that I can pick ANY commentary and God speaks to me through whatever book or commentary I pick up! And when I do pick up the Bible...imagine that....picking up the Bible...or clicking onto it rather (It sounds like such a chore doesn't it? )...Hours of meditation on one verse involving self-examination

  • Encyclopaedia of Judaism and Jewish Law (4 Vols.)...Trying to decide on Portfolio upgrade

For those of you who own these titles, how useful are these? How often do you go to these resources for your sermon/Sunday School prep or for just plain satisfying your curiosity? I'm trying to decide whether or not to upgrade from Platinum to Portfolio. I already own a good number of the titles in Portfolio. I had thought of getting at least the Encyclopedia

  • Re: 12 Days of Logos Christmas Special

Is today's (Day5) book offering really that good? Is it truly "the best book on expository preaching"? Or should I pass and use the money to upgrade to Portfolio? I'm still debating whether or not to upgrade...

Randle, If I'm missing only one resource on one of my two machines but don't which one, do you recommend the above to restore the one missing resource? Or will it do a full download of my library?

  • Re: Discounts on Zondervan's Logos editions for Pradis users

Daniel, Like you, I will not be upgrading from Pradis to Logos...unless the price is right. On Pradis I own, the Scholar's Library, EBC, NIVAC-NT and NIVAC-Prophets. Upgrading those at the PrePub pricing will be crazy. Currently, I am running it separately on my old PIII 733Mhz XP along with NIB because I've run out of hard disk space on my old laptop

Dave, Thanks for replying. Can I move my XP C:\...logos4 folder to my external D:\ drive instead of moving my Vista C:\...logos4? I'm missing one file on my Vista machine and I don't feel like hunting for just one file. :D Now let me get this straight: Steps: 1) On my XP machine, once I move my C:\...logos4 folder which has my indexed resources to my

  • Upgrading to Portfolio from Platinum - DVD Upgrade Option

I've already upgraded to Platinum and now I'm thinking to upgrade to Portfolio. I have the Platinum DVDs. If I don't want to download off the web, do I need to purchase the Portfolio DVD? Or does my Platinum DVD already contain the Portfolio resources ready to be "unlocked" after my upgrade? I want to save on the shipping costs for the Portfolio DVDs

Dave and Jon, Thanks a lot for your help and clarification. So if I copy from my XP machine the "\Logos4" folder on my C drive to my external D drive (D:\Logos4) and followed both your instructions regarding re-installing Logos 4 on my XP machine by changing the install location to D:\Logos4 and setting up the symbolic link to D:\Logos4 in my Vista

How can you easily do this in Vista? Where can I find step by step directions to do this in both XP and Vista? Or can you please tell me? :D I have Logos 4 loaded on my XP and Vista computers. So I can actually install the whole Logos 4 program--all application files and resources onto an external drive? Is that right? So if I have an old laptop and I'm near max'ing out my hard drive when I'm done loading all the resources then I should have told Logos 4 to install to my external drive from the get go? Is that right? I didn't know that you
