  • Gift Purchases?

Is it possible to purchase a resource as a gift for another Logos user? Thank you!

I do certainly thank everybody for the help. If any further tips come down the pike, I'll take them into account as well. I made a FaceBook account to check the Logos resales and then permanently deleted the same account even before I had sent in the confirmation code that they emailed me. Thanks again!

[quote user="Mark Barnes"] The days when you coupd get 25% discounts on base packages seem to be long gone, so if you don't qualify for academic discount 15% is probably the best you'll get. There are a number of resources that are heavily discounted if you buy them at the same time as a base package (particularly bundles, but several others as well

[quote user="Dan Francis"] [quote user="777"]Are Zondervan and Nelson actually owned by Christians, or are they perhaps not so and just market products for Christians to consume? Thank you, gentlemen, for the information regarding our inability to use dynamic pricing with Zondervan and Nelson titles. I'll red flag those, and if I absolutely need a resource that they market, I'll be sure to try to side-step their Christian practice of essentially charging you multiple times if you purchase subsequent bundles that contain product

  • Starting Over with Logos - Purchasing Strategies?

Howdy there! I first purchased Logos back when it came on 3.5" floppy disks but I got so fed up with it that I gave a large original languages collection away just to get it out from under my roof. I recently purchased three inexpensive resources and am considering getting a decent library built back up. I use Accordance and BibleWorks as well. Are

[quote user="DMB"] Now 777 I don't think you're being fair. The key is simply deciding 'when' to climb off the carousel. I stepped off at L3, locked in with IE6 in a virtual box, and no headaches since. Confession: I did buy the L5 crossgrade, and now own a crashing L5 with a non-working sense lexicon. Lesson: one needs to remain OFF the carousel.

  • Re: BHS SESB 2.0

People having problems with the Hebrew in Logos need to keep in mind that Logos doesn't consider you folks that use the original languages as their target demographic and thusly you are all being thrust to the proverbial back burner. This is N.O.P. with Logos.

Purchasing Logos 5 will eliminate the Logos 4 problem, but then you'll need the yet unreleased Logos 6 to fix the problems in Logos 5. Start saving up for that now, because before you know it Logos 7 will be coming to fix the problems in Logos 6. These upcoming version "upgrades" will always be completely free, except for the part where you pay Logos

[quote user="John"] I hope you don't own a software company. A software company stays in business by making its customers happy. A software company that was proactive and planned to discontinue support of a product with the release of a new OS would do so by releasing an updated package that delivered the same or better functionality at the time the

[quote user="John"] I just paid for a minimal crossgrade to Logos 4 a few weeks ago. Before I even get it to work now I find out it is obsolete. I wish I could go back in time 20+ years ago when I bought my first Logos 2.0 software. Back then they promised the library software would always be free. I would definitely tell myself not to do it. Logos is about making money for Logos. That is all. Logos is not a Christian company. It is a company that sells software to Christians. It's all about money. Logos 4 was absolute garbage. Logos 5 is not an upgrade to Logos 4, but rather a way to inject cash into Logos. Whenever Logos needs a large infusion of cash, they come out with a new version

BibleWorks is extremely solid Bible study software for people that really want to dig deep. You can even do your own morphological tagging. It blows Logos out of the water for original language studies in every imaginable way. It's quick and the people that program the software actually know how to program. As far as software speed goes, BibleWorks
