It may be harsh. Let's call it honest with a big twist of tough love thrown in for good measure.
Shouldn't this be reported as a BUG in the Logos 4 forum? I don't think the Logos folks who scan the forums for bug reports will notice it with the subject line "Can someone explain to me..." in the General forum.
I'd be thinking that Logos folks would be assuming that most posts would be bug reports and subsequently
On that basis - I would recommend skipping it - I really don't think you will be happy to rub along with the current versions inconsistencies.
I'm funny about paying for things and expecting them to work. I view Bible software as a tool to study the Bible, not as an end in itself that takes you off track and turns

  • Install Logos 4 Mac or skip it?

Hi Everybody, My new MacBook Pro arrived a couple of days ago. I specifically purchased it just to run Accordance. I'm "tempted" to install Logos 4 Mac on it as well, but I sort of want to get a run down on how that's working for everyone else before I go and do it. I'm actually interested in Bible studies and not so much in being an unpaid beta tester

I found some new Bible Notes software that looks interesting. http://scrolltag.com/home It looks to be brand spanking new and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It might be a good complement to Logos notes.
It takes 12 seconds to launch with a simple layout. I have the Vertex 3 with 500MB/s reads so this is disappointing to me. There seems to be a slight delay and lag with most things but nothing extreme. I'm sure compared to most other computers my MBP runs L4 with great speed but L4 is definitely the slowest program on
Petitioning Logos: I wonder how many current Logos users would be willing to petition Logos to add more Hebrew search capabilities to Logos4?
I would. I use BibleWorks now and it would be nice to be having it work in Logos 4. Compared to the speed and capabilities of BibleWorks, Logos 4 might as well be Adobe Reader

  • Re: Input requested on choice of Macbook Pro

I just ordered a new MacBook Pro. I went to the semi-local Apple Store and they told my wife and myself that it would void the warranty on the laptop if I swapped out the drive and memory, so I pretty much had to buy it factory built with 8GB ram and the 256GB SSD. I think my gal is tired of me peeling open computers anyway. =) The manual for my new

Hi Graham, Thank you kindly for that link. I'm waiting on my new Mac to arrive and wanted to get an idea of what additional software I'd perhaps be needing to have installed.
By the time Logos 5 is out, you'll have updated your computer at least once, and Logos 4 will fly!
That's what I'm afraid of. When Logos 5 comes out THEN Logos 4 will fly. What will Logos 5 be doing? Probably much like Logos 4 is doing now. That being said, Logos 4 is now better than it was when it was released. So
Logos 4 is too slow, too bloated, an relies on indexing technology which is completely outmoded. It's still missing too many things which we loved about Logos 3. And it's still the slowest of the Bible software packages for searching the Bible. It's time to scrap the whole thing and reprogram the software and resources

  • export to Powerpoint?

Hi, I'm still waiting for my new MacBook Pro to arrive and I was wondering something about the Mac version of Logos 4... when you open Biblical People, Biblical Places, or Biblical Things under Windows there is a means to export to Powerpoint. Is there similar functionality in the Mac version, and if so, does it export to Powerpoint or Keynote? Thank

  • Re: Laptop purchase questions

I ended up ordering the MBP 3 times until I got what I wanted. I kept cancelling the order after I went and did even more homework. I ended up buying the loaded creampuff version of the 17" with everything but the 512GB SSD. I got the 256GB SSD instead. The MBP has the anti-glare screen too. I ordered a boatload of Accordance today as well.

I also forgot - the MacBook Pro has a 16:10 aspect ratio while the W520 is a 16:19 aspect ratio. I'm used to 16:10 and 16:10 is getting hard to find. That 1920 x 1200 is a bit more than the 1920 x 1080 that the W520 sports. The MBP also has audio out AND audio in ports. Not so on the Lenovo.

Before I bought the W520 my better half was dead set against me buying a Mac. That was my first choice. I had a thinkpad T61p so I looked at the T520 and W520 and bought the W520. Then I found out that the W520 reports a southbridge chipset stepping of B2 that would indicate that it has the Sandy Bridge SATA fault on the mainboard. Since I was booting

  • Re: Laptop purchase questions

I should probably point out that I returned the Lenovo W520 machine that I had just purchased and am now getting a 17" MacBook Pro. The W520 was nice, supported more drives and twice as much ram, and could boot from a miniature mSATA card, but I decided to go MacBook Pro instead. It's a long story...
