• Re: Good News: Logos 4 on the iPad!

From what I have seen I am not impressed with the iPad. It looks like an iTouch that is too big to fit in a pocket. It will run neither Mac nor Windows applications. While it was hyped as a "Kindle killer," the reading experience on the iPad can't compare to reading a book on the Kindle. The Kindle (and most other e-readers) uses an e-ink display that

  • Re: Calling all Portfolio owners

I like having the extra books. I never know when I might need the information in one of them. I have also purchased several of the journals. It is amazing how often the information I am looking for is in one of them. Erasmus once said, “When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes.” Gabrielle is reported to have said
I have experienced the same problem after installing the New International Greek Testament Commentary on 1 Corinthians. I am unable to merge indexes.
Use the command "Rebuild index" before you go to sleep for the night. It might be finished by the time you wake up. This fixed the problem for me and I am now able

  • Re: Where did this feature go: topic browser
I believe that Logos tagged many of their resources for significant topics and references and that this tagging was time consuming and expensive (which is why not every Logos book featured this type of tagging - usually the higher value ones). I remember them trumpeting how long it had taken them to topic tag the Early Church
Aww but those enhancements might make it so logos 4 will run slower on older computers,, you sure you want that??
I recently calculated that I've spent enough on Logos and additional books to buy more than eight brand new laptops (Windows not Macs). The cost of the equipment is becoming insignificant compared to
Logos 4 just Downloaded the Tyndale Commentary (without the CD - I thought it was just going to ship today!). Unfortunately the indexer started crashing immediately after attempting to index. I've attached my two log files.
Yes, that was nice. But, why did they make us get the disks and pay for shipping if they

"Rebuild index" also worked for me with no problem except for a long wait which I slept through. I still think that there must be a bug in the software causing this problem. I hope they fix the problem soon. In spite of all the "teething" problems with Logos 4 I still like it! As it matures it should get better and better.
I've tried to rebuild my index, but it's the indexer which is crashing, so it doesn't work.
What surprises me is that the person I spoke to at Logos support last night hadn't heard that there was a problem with the indexer.
After downloading this Pre-Pub Windows XP notifies me that Logos 4 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I shut down the program the first time then restarted it. The second time I also rebooted and still received the same error report. So this time I posted the notice looking for help in resolving this.

  • Merging Indexes Crash

I am running Logos 4.0a SR-3. The merging index program crashes everytime I try to merge indexes. This has happened both on my home (Windows 7) and office computer (Windows XP). This problem has appeared since the last update installed. I've tried to call Logos and speak to support but I have been unsuccessful. I've called three times and averaged 45

The blog today talked about using abbreviations for books of the Bible when using Logos. I have looked but I am unable to find a list of abbreviations for the books of the Bible that can be used in Logos.
