• Re: Video series on preparing a sermon complete!

The Logos wiki site has a list of several great videos including the ones done by Mark. http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials LaRosa Johnson has posted a great video on how to use Microsoft OneNote with Logos 4 instead of using the built-in Logos note capability. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QGGD7rOEYs

  • Difficulty With Collection Commands

I am trying to create a collection of my New Testament Commentaries. I am trying to exclude Old Testament commentaries from this collection. My problem is that I can't seem to exclude the Old Testament commentaries by using the command ANDNOT subject:"O.T." I am not used to using this command language and I am sure that I have done something incorrect
I just upgraded to Logos 4 platinum and was quite distressed to find that I paid money for some roman catholic resources (e.b. Pusey, etc). Do any others feel this way?
It doesn't bother me, but then I work in the area of comparative religions. I have even used the Quran that comes with Logos on several occasions

Is it my imagination or is the merging of indexes in Logos 4.0a faster? It used to take my computer more than eight hours to merge indexes even when I only added only one small book. (OK, I forced the indexes to merge.) I just added a large set and the estimate for merging the indexes in Logos 4.0a is now only one hour.
I've now finished my video series on preparing a sermon. It's in four parts, and the first two I've posted before. Here's all the videos, in case you missed some. It's best to view them in full screen mode. Once you've clicked play, look for the little button with four arrows next to the Vimeo logo. Getting Started [/quote
Mark: Could you articulate for me what you wish topic searching/browsing was like in 4.0? Can you walk me through a scenario of how you would use it? • Search Fields Problem

The Search Fields List in the Logos Wiki ( http://wiki.logos.com/Search_Fields_List ) states the following: Search fields are the fields that can be searched by using a fieldname: searchitem syntax . For instance, heading:compassion will search for titles and headings that have the word “compassion” in them. This field only works in Bibles! It will
As a work-around that you can use while you wait for more help, I would suggest you click the hyperlink that the clipping captures and it will take you to your resource and the correct section. You can then simply copy it from the book (or resource) and get the reference in a footnote.
A great suggestion! I had not

  • Re: Searching Footnotes

Is there any way to search a book just for topic headings? In the advanced Camp Logos (3) class that I took searching for topics was one of the most powerful features of Logos 3 that was discussed. This is especially true if you are searching a book or a collection for sermon illustrations.

  • Problems With Clipping and Footnotes

I really like the concept of the clippings in Logos 4. My problem is that I don't seem to be able to get the footnote references to work correctly when using clippings. When I copy text directly into my word processor in Logos 4 it works properly. The reference citation automatically saves the correct information in a footnote. I set the citation style

I suspect that a lot of these updates are the result of the "report typos" feature. One day I spotted and reported three mistakes in the resources I was using.

  • Re: Loading Theological Journal Library CDs into Logos 4

Tell the publisher that I would appreciate downloading the journals as an option. I just spent over $400 buying libraries 1-11. I will not buy library 12 when it comes out unless downloading is an option since I don't plan on keeping Logos 3 on my laptop forever.
