  • Re: Suggested Layout for NT Study

When this was posted a week ago I got all excited because we were going to get a whole bunch of screenshots from the power users showing how they set up for study. So far Andrew is the only one I've seen. Come on experienced Logos users, help us newbies out.It really is a tremendous help to see how some one that understands the software sets up their

Thanks Rosie, the link helped. Also putting the asterisk worked. What exactly is the asterisk saying to the search. Also on reverting to google, I love google for searches it's just not always available out in the middle of nowhere where I call home. Thanks again

  • Paul's prison ministry

I'm working on a sermon and I am mentioning the people Paul converted from prison. I'm coming off Phillipians 4:22. I know there are other places Paul makes references to those he has converted in prison. Using google I can find this information quickly. I want to know how to use my scholars silver to find this without reverting to google. Thanks

  • Re: Free or very cheap option?

I couldn't afford to spend much money when I got Logos, so I got the Bible Study Library. If you look around on the internet you can find some coupon codes. then doing the monthly plan you will pay about $30 a month. If you decide you need one of the bigger packages there is an upgrade option which takes into account the base package you have already

  • Re: Barnes is on the Move

It's hard to say why I enjoy Barnes so much. In Esword I have 22 commentaries. If I'm quickly trying to study something I go to Calvin, Poole and Barnes to see what they say. Barnes just has a way of saying it that makes it feel more like I'm having a conversation with a pastor instead of having a theologian tell me what they think. I have Barnes notes

Kim, I have set up Grant Horner's, an ESV Chronological plan, and a New Testament in 30 days plan. I use the New Testament plan every day. I'm not saying you want have trouble, but I haven't and it is awesome being able to keep up with where I am on the computer with these plans that involve reading books out of order. Plus it shows up on my phone thorough

[quote user="David Ames"] David Ames: David A does not know Greek nor Hebrew DavidKnoll : Then he must not comment on OT or LXX Textual criticism. • Anymore Driscoll works planned?

I was wondering if anymore Mark Driscoll resources were planned? I know you have the Trial booklet and sermon archive, but I think some books like Vintage Church and Vintage Jesus would be handy to have in Logos. There is also a pdf booklet for Genesis I've used before. Just curious if any of these are planned?

Gloria, I'm a newbie and like you I was quickly ready to throw in the towel using Logos 4. I spent a day watching all the tutorial videos. Still felt I had wasted a lot of money. Then I came across Mark Barnes videos http://www.4-14.org.uk/logos-bible-software-tutorial-videos/preparing-a-sermon-with-logos I don't know if you have watched it yet, but

  • Re: A place to share studies

[quote user="Rosie Perera"] We could create a Logos wiki page for this. It wouldn't contain the actual documents, just links to them (the way the video tutorials page works). We could let people host them on their own sites if they are large documents, or if they were originally posted on the forum the wiki page would have the direct link to the forum

Ron, I'm looking at your screenshot and was wondering if you manually highlighted or if you set up a rule to highlight similar things. I understand how to manually do this but I was noticing how you had Wind on the sea, storm on the sea, Calamity, and the sea highlighted and was just curious because if their is a rule that could make that automatic

  • A place to share studies

As I read through the forums I often hear someone mention a study they've done and then several people mention they would love to read their notes for example Davis Ames' 10 page theory on the LXX, http://community.logos.com/forums/t/20136.aspx?PageIndex=3 or Rosie Perera 's class notes (don't remeber which post I saw them in). Is there a place where

I don't know how interested in this subject you are, but a book by James wegner (The Journey from Texts to Translations: The Origin and Development of the Bible/ Paul D. Wegne r/Baker/2004/ISBN: 0801027993) is a great resource for studying the basics of manuscripts. It has a lot of tables and an index to quickly find them. Unfortunately I couldn't find

I'm in at $90. I've used this for years at the libray and in the previous bible software I used. I really would like to get it tied in with logos instead of having to have two programs open. I did a quick search and found that studylight. org has Barnes notes where they can be viewed online http://www.studylight.org/com/bnn/ . Maybe if you are trying
