  • Re: Catholic Study Bible V2 vs V3 NABRE

Craig, This brings up a good general question. Would the 3rd edition appear in Pre Publication? Or I guess, the other part of that question is do all new offerings show up in Pre Publication first? I've already long since gone through everything in Verbum's catalog and culled what I don't have but am interested in into a wishlist. I don't revisit the

Thanks. I suspected as much. I just purchased the 3rd edition from Accordance and I'll take this off my wishlist for Verbum.

  • Catholic Study Bible V2 vs V3 NABRE

Compared to the Ignatius Study Bible or the Navarre Study Bible, I don't view the Catholic Study Bible as quite as good. However, it has been on my wish list for some time. I already have the NABRE in Verbum, so I just need the Catholic Study Bible which has the commentary. I just noticed that Accordance is running a very good sale on the Catholic Study

  • Re: Ignatius Catholic Study Bible Missing Old Testament Volumes

I could not possibly have responded better. A set like this is meant to be comprehensive and self-referential. As such, trying to use it with pieces missing is a very frustrating experience. Particularly when the lag from physical publishing to electronic publishing is so long.

  • Re: Ignatius Catholic Study Bible Missing Old Testament Volumes

Can I hear an Amen? This set is such a no-brainer for FL to pull into Verbum as soon as possible. Such a chunk of it is already there. The Church's Bible set is another like this where the commentary for certain books of the Bible is yet to be written but then even when it is and with an existing portion of it already available in Verbum, it still seems

  • Re: Pre Publication Link Under Deals No Longer Limited To Catholic Volumes

It appears to be working much better as there's an option to limit the pre-pub to Catholic works now. However, with this change the status bar "gathering interest" "under development" etc seems to have switched to a solid bar rather than a progress bar. Is this a new bug that's been introduced or is it meant to stay that way? I could understand a bug

David, I haven't upgraded yet to Verbum 8. I'll report back once I do. (It might be 6-8 weeks before I upgrade. Verbum 7 is very solid and I'd like it to be out for at least a couple of months before upgrading to ensure I don't hit a bunch of bugs that often accompany major upgrades of software in general.

  • New Book Request ....

https://www.ignatius.com/A-Catholic-Introduction-to-the-Bible-P2870.aspx This is SO perfect for Verbum that I think I'm am going to try very hard to resist buying it until Verbum can add it to my electronic library.

  • Re: Help Needed On Update From Verbum 7 to 8

Craig, Thanks for the reply. The only other question I had on the update was on the desktop and relates to a layout. It's a customized version of the default Lectionary layout and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes having multiple tabs. Do I need to do anything to make sure that layout is still present when I update the desktop

  • Re: Wish lists now available on Verbum.com

Well, I'm flabbergasted. I've been waiting all year for this. The only problem is that my rather extensive wishlist on Logos.com doesn't appear to have moved over. It's still there but when I click on wishlists in Verbum it's blank. My logos wishlist is not only extensive it's already prioritized as well. It's the ONLY thing I ever log into Logos' site

  • Help Needed On Update From Verbum 7 to 8

I just started with Verbum 7 on my Mac earlier this year having previously only used Accordance. I'm looking to get the base feature update and move to Verbum 8. But I'm concerned about a few items beforehand: I have a layout that I really like (a customized version of the default Lectionary) and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes

  • Pre Publication Link Under Deals No Longer Limited To Catholic Volumes

Since the change in Verbum homepage with the coming of Verbum/Logos 8 the link under deals that takes you to pre publication titles no longer sends you to a page filtered for Catholics. You wind up with 1,900 pages of titles. I don't have time for that. And I can't find left column filters by denomination. So for the time being I guess I'll just stop

  • Re: Liturgy of the Hours/Breviary for Verbum??

I too am just an average Catholic in the pew and have no other liturgical role or function at my parish. I bought the four volume LotH decades ago as well in order to follow along with the brothers on EWTN. (It's very frustrating to learn how to do LotH if you're trying to figure it out on your own.) But I've used Universalis the past few years as well

Misleading...dishonest.... Tomato ... tomato. I stand by my original choice of words. More than one person has posted that this type of "value" marketing has been done for a LONG time by FL. Even a FL representative on this post has said it has been a long standing source of "confusion." Careful thought goes into a website design and they in more than

Deacon Steve: I hadn't intended to pick on New Collegeville Bible Commentary specifically. New Collegeville wasn't really my point. That was just the example I used. Here is another one: I don't believe "Come and See" has the same issue with different publications of various bundles of the volumes like New Collegeville. There are 15 volumes and FL is

  • Re: Dishonest Advertising On Verbum 8

Well, I find the whole idea of these "partial collections" to be an attempt to appeal to the idea of getting a great value. But I firmly believe it is somewhat deceptive in that you can't get a lot of value out of a small portion of a package. (In my example of the New Collegeville Commentary, the 2 volumes aren't really 2 volumes. It's really 25 individual

  • Re: Dishonest Advertising On Verbum 8

It's actually worse than 1 of 2 volumes. If you look in greater detail there are actually TWENTY FIVE volumes when you get right down to it. And you're getting ONE of those TWENTY FIVE volumes. So if all 25 are $199.99 is it really even remotely ethical to so much as HINT that what you're getting in this package would be worth ANYTHING CLOSE to $199

  • Dynamic Pricing/Logos Confused With What I Have And Don't Have

Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing as I review a Verbum 8 base package, already owning a Verbum. It's telling me in the larger window (both windows show me logged in) that lists the details of Verbum 8 starter that under "Atlases, Maps, and Media" I already own the "Catholic Answers Video Library" but it doesn't think I own "Word on Fire Video

  • Dishonest Advertising On Verbum 8

Very disappointed in FaithLife here. I'm looking at the Verbum 8 base package - I already have Verbum 7 - and there are many instances like what I've screen shot here with the New Collegeville Bible Commentary. FL is touting "Value if sold separately" in the right hand column and listing $199.99. But they have also noted "Only some resources from this
