  • Re: Refresh homepage?

Thanks for the quick reply. So it's a bug, just not the bug I thought. LOL In any event now I know how to do it the correct way. I'll try it tomorrow and we'll know once and for all. God bless.

  • “Unsync” 2 iPads?

I’m thinking about joining a 2nd Bible study. I’ve done this in the past with physical Bibles - 1 for each study. I only bought my iPad Pro a few months ago and my iPad 2 still works fine. Is it possible for me to load a subset of my books on the old iPad and “unsync” them so they don’t mess with what I’m doing on

  • Pause A Reading Plan?

I started a plan to read the entire NRSVCE2 in a year around 2 months ago. I've just finished Judges. And as much as I'm liking this, I've decided to pause here and go through Jeff Cavin's Great Adventure Bible Study. I think it would add a lot to the rest of my read through the entire Bible (which I've never tried before cover to cover). Is there any

  • March Madness

Well I just voted after getting the email about Logos' March Madness promotion. The 4 Verbum/Catholic commentaries are pitted against Protestant commentaries and I think that bodes ill for them in this promotion. My regrettable experience is that Protestants are FAR more into bible study than Catholics - as a whole. I cheer and support folks like Cavins

  • Re: March Madness

Well it looks like even though the discounts link on the March Madness page doesn't reflect anything yet, the individual page for the Standard Edition Navarre OT & NT 19 volume set already reflects 35% off. I assume that would grow in MIRACULOUS event it actually got past the first round. And at this point, I think it would take Divine intervention

  • Re: Dishonest Advertising On Verbum 8

It's actually worse than 1 of 2 volumes. If you look in greater detail there are actually TWENTY FIVE volumes when you get right down to it. And you're getting ONE of those TWENTY FIVE volumes. So if all 25 are $199.99 is it really even remotely ethical to so much as HINT that what you're getting in this package would be worth ANYTHING CLOSE to $199

  • Re: Dishonest Advertising On Verbum 8

Well, I find the whole idea of these "partial collections" to be an attempt to appeal to the idea of getting a great value. But I firmly believe it is somewhat deceptive in that you can't get a lot of value out of a small portion of a package. (In my example of the New Collegeville Commentary, the 2 volumes aren't really 2 volumes. It's really 25 individual

  • Re: Liturgy of the Hours/Breviary for Verbum??

I too am just an average Catholic in the pew and have no other liturgical role or function at my parish. I bought the four volume LotH decades ago as well in order to follow along with the brothers on EWTN. (It's very frustrating to learn how to do LotH if you're trying to figure it out on your own.) But I've used Universalis the past few years as well

  • Pre Publication Link Under Deals No Longer Limited To Catholic Volumes

Since the change in Verbum homepage with the coming of Verbum/Logos 8 the link under deals that takes you to pre publication titles no longer sends you to a page filtered for Catholics. You wind up with 1,900 pages of titles. I don't have time for that. And I can't find left column filters by denomination. So for the time being I guess I'll just stop

  • Help Needed On Update From Verbum 7 to 8

I just started with Verbum 7 on my Mac earlier this year having previously only used Accordance. I'm looking to get the base feature update and move to Verbum 8. But I'm concerned about a few items beforehand: I have a layout that I really like (a customized version of the default Lectionary) and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes

  • Re: Wish lists now available on Verbum.com

Well, I'm flabbergasted. I've been waiting all year for this. The only problem is that my rather extensive wishlist on Logos.com doesn't appear to have moved over. It's still there but when I click on wishlists in Verbum it's blank. My logos wishlist is not only extensive it's already prioritized as well. It's the ONLY thing I ever log into Logos' site

  • Re: Help Needed On Update From Verbum 7 to 8

Craig, Thanks for the reply. The only other question I had on the update was on the desktop and relates to a layout. It's a customized version of the default Lectionary layout and it's the only one I use - about 5 panes with a few panes having multiple tabs. Do I need to do anything to make sure that layout is still present when I update the desktop

  • New Book Request ....

https://www.ignatius.com/A-Catholic-Introduction-to-the-Bible-P2870.aspx This is SO perfect for Verbum that I think I'm am going to try very hard to resist buying it until Verbum can add it to my electronic library.

  • Can You Create One Book Out Of A Number Of Books? Ignatius Study Bible Question

I have all the available Ignatius Study Bible books available to date on Verbum. However, I'd like to have all of those books in one "super book" so I could open a split view with the RSVSE at the top and the scrolling Ignatius Bible Commentary below so that I didn't have to jump around to a bunch of different windows as I move through the various books

  • Re: Can You Create One Book Out Of A Number Of Books? Ignatius Study Bible Question

Robert: WOW - SO SO SO COOL! Thank you for showing me this. I had no idea Verbum/Logos was this "smart." I absolutely love this feature. Or at least it is this smart on my Mac. I find that even if all the books in the series are downloaded and "local" on my iPad Pro the Verbum app isn't so smart. So, from the height of cool on my Mac to the depth of

  • New To Verbum - Verbum Starter Library or Catholic Answers Library?

I expect I'll be a very casual user of Verbum. I've had Accordance for over a decade. (I had Logos before that but at the time I moved from Windows to the Mac the only game in town for Mac Bible software was Accordance.) I still like Accordance but recently discovered Logos had made the move to the Mac and had a LOT more specifically Catholic content

  • Re: Layout Help

Thanks so much! Huge help. Verbum live help was telling me this was only possible with at least the Starter feature set. The Verbum folks are helpful to be sure, but they seem to constantly be pushing to sell you more. All in all calling help at Accordance is a MUCH less sales pressure filled experience.

  • Re: Ignatius Catholic Study Bible Missing Old Testament Volumes

The movie studios sort of have this concept correct in my opinion. You can buy a movie on BluRay - although it will contain the DVD for those who haven't yet made the switch to BluRay. And there will be a digital download code so you can pull the movie into your iTunes library or other digital tablet/phone/computer media repository operating system

  • Re: Ignatius Catholic Study Bible Missing Old Testament Volumes

It looks like Verbum needs an Ignatius Study Bible Upgrade Part 2 set to include: 1 & 2 Samuel 1 & 2 Kings Judges & Ruth Joshua (Non Verbum rant: The pricing from Ignatius kills me on these. They want exactly the same price whether you get a physical book or an e-book. I don't expect folks to give away this sort of material digitally, but
